I agree with you, it makes me sick how many times games or movies will use THE SAME OLD classic songs... not that classics are bad...
But because it makes the music industry one sided.
Its why my personal feelings are that IN AMERICA music is dead, its everywhere now, but its overproduced sold out trash to the same time signature, and a whopping 3 chords.
Chances are the people making the commercial have no idea about "modern music" plus they likely have incentives for using Sony brand music.
The worst part being a musician is you live long enough to see a change, but realize its left up to the no experience joe, or the mind altering media to tell us "what good music is"
Cobain died to avoid becoming the same fascists corporate dogs, that any band today strives for. Classical rock (jazz etc) is great but most of it is owned by the same 3 corporations that will keep shoving it down the medias throat as long as there is still a teenager, buying another beatles t shirt.
