Did it crush your soul? Is say etrian odessey is harder. But then again only thing I don't have to deal with is recruiting demons. I will guess that being a thing makes it harder. Other than that. Normal everyday enemies can easily wipe my entire group, since I controll what party members I make and choose how I upgrade them. I can potentially make a team that's doomed to fail. Or upgrade the wrong skills so I can't maximize their potential. That's why I say etrian odyssey is hard.

I've played EO4 (just to try it, I don't own it) and found it fine. It's always confusing until you get some of the mechanics down too... But not easy, for sure! Aen't they by the same developer or something? I swear they're related in more than genre. Maybe they're just intrinsically difficult. I've played other SMT games as well, and find 4 the most difficult. I haven't finished any of them, though. ;-; Recruiting demons, and the necessity of which is actually what gets me, haha. You hit the nail on the head. I do like the elemental system and such. Maybe I just need to get good.
