I benched my thorn. Anyone else?
Honestly have grown to hate this weapon since I have benched it. Now it's all about the last word for small maps. And Hopscotch Pilgrim for ranged maps.
Anyone else finally bench the thorn? I hope the nerf kills it personally. Haha.
What's your load outs these days?

1 ReplyI benched it a long time ago when I realized how cheep it was. I like it as a pistol but its way to dirty in PvP. I'm excited for it to leave the meta of PvP and be relevant in PvE against bosses. Honestly its getting a DPS boost of you can land shots on target with it.

1 ReplyI agree 100%. TLW and Hopscotch are my most used primaries for PvP. I think I might just go all the way and dismantle Thorn.

1 ReplyYeah. I should have been using TLW all the while anyway...but I did the whole IB without Thorn. Used hopscotch and Pradyths Timepiece and did great.

I had a hawkmoon first, so when I got my thorn I was a little disappointed at how it handled. I put it on my 9 year old sons character, along with a final round sniper. He was getting 20+ kills a game in IB.

I only use thorn in maps where everyone else is spamming it like the canned meat isle at Safeway, otherwise, I stick with Hopscotch Pilgrim, Lord of Wolves, and my Bee TuRD.

1 ReplyYep. Benched it and loathe it now. Started using messenger or jewel of Osiris. Only way I'll pull out thorn now is if I'm trying to get the postmortem bounty done fast.

1 ReplyLol I totally benched my thorn to pick up TLW which I've never used because I was all about thorn. Now I've gotten so used to TLW that the thorn feels weird to use again. Oh and I use my hopscotch every now and then It's basically TLW or hopscotch

Also have never missed Iron Banner since day 1 and played a lot of Trials. That being said i'm really looking forward to Bungie finally nerfing that ridiculous weapon. My stats will be even better after that i guess. :-) So in a way that's my little protest/rebellion against Thorn and all the people using it. I enjoy crucible a lot, but my greatest pleasure is killing people with Thorn. Lately i'm uising Red Death/The Messenger, Low Grade Humility and Tomorrow's answer.

The "nerf" isn't going to "kill" any exotic weapons... Plus I think thorn is going to be more viable in PvE after 2.0

I've always hated it. It feels heavy, looks retarded, sounds terrible. I use it when primary is favoured on occasion, or when an entire team of thorn users piss me off with it.

Then I got the Vex and started using that. Then I started using TLW and ended up sticking with that. Don't know what I'll use in 2.0 but an increase in larger maps would be nice so I can start regularly using pulse and scout rifles.
