It literally can when they spend more money making the game than they're making back on it which will happen by destiny 2 more than likely. From what they've shown in TTK thus far, it's all hype and dull. TTK will make or break the future of the game.

The thing is, that's not exactly how it works. Activision gave Bungie 500 million for ten years of the game. Bungie doesn't need to worry about anything. And it's not like it's an obscure indie game or something, it's one of, if not the most played next gen game(s.)

You're right it is. It also has the potential to turn into the biggest failure in gaming history also if they continue down the path they've headed down. What kept people hooked on year 1 was the fact that it was a gambling simulator, that's all it was, which drew people in and kept them going. They're changing year 2 to quest lines for items, removing most of the gambling involved with reward gains, which is good but that assuming they have figured out enough to content to people going for as long as the gambling simulator did.
