Before anyone gets all salty and abuses me in the comments, have a good read.
So last night a friend and I were going to dive into a level 34 PoE, and as per usual we go LFG to get a third Guardian to help us.
For anonymity's sake we're going to call this guy "SuperScrub". SuperScrub replied saying he was, and I quote; "Highly skilled, all exotics, maxed Gally."
Naturally my friend invites him and we get on our way. The problems start here.
He joins and he's a 33 Warlock. No problem, my friend is 33 and I'm 34, no issues here. Skill is key.
When my friend and I are jumping around, blasting the heck out of Vex and this guy is just standing in a corner of the room, not doing anything. Of course, he dies. We both then get messages from this guy. Weird, right? It gets better. He's typed up some long ass message basically saying "Join my clan PLS IT'S SO GOOD."
My friend is the founder of his clan, and I the admin of mine, so we kindly decline this and keep playing.
Only he doesn't do anything. Every room, he just stands still, dies, pops his Fireborn, and dies again. The epitome of skill.
Through much pain and suffering, my friend and I manage to get to the end, punch Gulrot in his ganky face and get praised by Variks. The dude of course is magically active now, as the sweet prospect of rewards is dangled in front of him. My friend and I sail down to the bottom and wait.
The second he touches down, we both wave, and I kick him.
I don't reward Leeches.
TL;DR : SuperrScrub LFG leech got booted at Treasure Room for leeching.

I guess you can say...
He earned that kick
No regrets OP, no regrets.

Lol I don't see why people are getting pissed at you for this. He could've said he wasn't going to do anything as soon as he joined and the problem would've been solved anyway. But he waited to see if he would get off clean. But you gotta work for what you want, so I don't blame you for kicking him. What can people tell you anyway? "That's not nice dear, you shouldn't do that." Yea right lol.
-
lol..!

I hate people like that. If I was looking for a leach I would make it clear that I would be leaching. This was back when I just starting the game and had no legendary a or exotic gear. I dont mind leachers if they flat out say they are leaching. Fakes can burn in hell.

I think he deserved it and believe you. The LFG leeches have been a problem since VoG came out. I'd say on average I run into lfg liars 50% of the time. Same as bungie hands out ban hammers we need to hand out kick hammers on guardians that look for carries. If someone is honest and needs help I have no problem helping out, it's when they lie about it when it annoys me.

Wow. Man i'd say I'm an average player and play up and down on POE but if someone is to get kicked at the late stages of the poe this might be the only reason. That's not cool what he did. Recruiting for your clan can be done by evaluating skill in level 28. Level 34 is tough enough for 3 contributors. not sure i could have waiting like that but kudos to you for getting through it. But i'd say next time just kick him as early possible or just ask him to play or you'll kick him. he'll probably leave.

People still do PoE??...

well done guardian. #Wouldofteabagged
-
Well deserved boot IMO, I would have booted him long before that though.
-
Call him on it, lol, You sir, are a LEECH! Get in here and kill shit! Oh I'm sorry for standing here and making you do all the work. How about I just kite everything and make you work even harder, THEN DIE.
-
I would have kicked for lying
-
I support this. Wish you could do it pub games as well.
-
I think its cool to handle a leech that way but I don't get why you didn't confront him about it immediately?! Ive been in very similar situations often enough and my first response is to find out wtf is going on with the guy/girl before taking action. In this particular case it would seem he/she was a leech, but you failed too by not confronting the issue at the start.

Once had a young kid join me and a buddy in POE. His first question to me was, "you aren't going to kick me at the end right?" So naturally I did what any sensible person woulda done. At the end of the final boss I tell my friend to boot him :D
i was host and I immediately said I was joking. So he was pretty happy that we weren't jerks and just kicked him for no reason
Would've done the same
-
Good on you, he might think twice before leeching.
-
You are the scrub for not kicking home earlier so he can lead from it now he's just gonna be more salty

Edited by GOUDLY: 8/21/2015 4:53:56 AMHad something similar to this... Ran Skolas last week (and finally killed the bastard) and round 4 a buddy of mine had to take off. No problem, forums and found another. This "2nd gentleman" got 7 kills in round 4... 7. I'm surprised he revived me and my other buddy at all. Round 5 gets ready... kicked 2nd gentleman. He asked why, and I never replied. Other kicker was he had no mic so that didn't help. I don't blame you one bit for kicking him mate.

I would of kicked k him much earlier
-
Join my clan its soo good
-
Scrub comes here to edit his post about how popular it is. You should get booted next time.
-
Yea..it would be a different story if he just sucked. .. No effort at all...sigh I would have kicked him too
-
After your explanation, I would've done the same
-
So, you might have ruined someone's day for that? I wouldn't brag about it.
