How did you "earn" YOUR Gjallarhorn?
I don't think I need to tell anybody that there's been a lot of salt thrown around recently by folks lamenting the fact that they had to "earn" their Haller Haller Get Gjaller, and now anybody can just buy one.
The thing is though, by definition, if anybody that had one from a drop did actually earn it, they did so only by running the one activity that granted them the drop (and by extension getting to whatever level let them run that activity). That could have been the very first thing they had ever run that could grant you an exotic, and they'd have landed on the Jellyhorn. Nothing else affected the chances, and any belief to the contrary illustrates the Gambler's Fallacy.
That led me to thinking, what did those of us who got Ballerhorn in a drop [i]really[/i] do to "earn" the (until recently) rarest of guns?
So without further ado, I'd like to be the first to recount the legendary tale of how I "earned" my GGhorn.

tl;dr ITT share stories of any low effort "feats" you accomplished that gave you a Gjallarhorn drop, demonstrating the lack of a correlation between effort and reward, thus disproving that RNG counts as "earning" any more than Xûr does.

Edit 2: It occurs to me that in the original post I failed to mention the fact that for some, their YOLOhorn dropped after a particularly difficult feat, such that they really do feel that they earned theirs. My point is not to lessen the sense of accomplishment anyone felt after acquiring their Yellerhorn, but rather to highlight the fact that due to RNG, many of us "earned" ours in really easy/silly ways, and to invite the people who are sad/angry/disappointed at everyone's favorite Splatoon cosplayer to think about whether RNG really qualifies as earning something.

My first one came in a Rumble match in which I placed third on Twilight Gap.

I don't even remember how I got my three but from all the hard raids and nightfalls I'd like to say I earned it, plus bought three more.

I logged in and bought mine. Took me 10 mins to find xur mind you but he was quite reasonable about it and gave me a store discount of 25% for the inconvenience. Such a reasonable black market trader. EDIT: It appears that the 25% discount came at a price. I woke up this morning and found one of my kidneys removed. Seems I actually did earn mine after all.

10 RepliesAfter 522 hours, 1000 strikes, nfs, a few raids sprinkled in here and there I earned 2 in 10 seconds today. lol Finally RNG went my way, just like it did for everyone else who had it before. Honestly the only thing folks who received it through random drops have over those who bought it is that ''oh sh!t, just got a gally!!'' moment. and that IS something pretty cool. But I'm glad xur sold it today.

Oh, I earned mine by playing the game and getting no exotic rocket. That's right, I didn't not get a weapon, an entire weapon level was barred from my use! I went and bought it with the coins I earned.

1 ReplyI got mine from sneaking down a cave full of druggies. They had totally hot boxed the shit out of the cave, it was all smoggy and green. Then I found their hide out and tried steeling from their raw stash of weed. Then all of the sudden when me and my 5 friends touched it the leader of the gang (Who was totally high) started yelling and chasing at us with a stick yelling "I AM CROTA" After about 25 feet he would get tired and turned around, only to run another 25 feet. We took his stick and shoved it up his ass then I ripped a rocket launcher out of his corpse. Don't even ask me how I got the Vex
