You said it, everything that I feel about my whole first year spent with destiny. Also stopped playing for a time after TDB. Only came back to check out HOW because I had already paid for it when I fell for the expansion pass at launch. Also got back on the grinding after seeing the etheric light concept because for me as well, it felt like bungie had realized their mistake and were attempting to show that my time investment meant something to them. Now at present, since the announcement that legendary gear will become obsolete in TTK, I have again quit playing almost completely. Other than a handful of nightfalls, I have barely logged in, for all of the reasons you've mentioned. Mostly because I have zero faith that bungie is doing anything with this game for the players. They have lost my trust, and my respect, and I would have a hard time coming back to the game even if TTK gets stellar reviews. Bungie has proven they only care about my wallet, and while I would jump back into destiny head first if it was acquired by just about any other dev, I will not blindly throw any more money around. The one thing I did get from year one is that lesson, and I have learned it well.
