I would not call it an over reaction. I call it watching the trends.
Vanilla had alot of great legendary weapons as well as the VoG weapons.
TDB had less selection of good legendaries. There were some, but not as many. Most of the Raid weapons were good quality.
But is was downhill from Vanilla. Plus the end-game weapon was an absolute joke. The way to get it was fun. A very sad reward for all that work.
HoW has even less good legendaries. The PoE weapons ARE garbage. I know very few people who actually use the PoE rewards in PoE. Why? Because they suck. And that is being nice. The perks have also been greatly gimped on purpose.
So I have no faith in the weapon design by Bungie. Their entire mindset has been to gimp the wepons and make the bullet sponge enemies stronger.
Maybe they will be better? Possibly. More than likely, following the trend, there will be even less good weapons.
Alot of the "buffs" that are claimed will happen will be offset by the perk nerfs that are going to hit.
Bungie has proven they DO NOT test things very well at all. The last large weapon change they made resulted in the destruction of an entire class of weapon.
Now they are touching everything. I have zero faith in their ability to do it right. i expect major problems.
