Personally I refuse to use fireborn except for if I have level disadvantage, or, occasionally, playing ToO. Otherwise, it's radiant skin or song of flame for days people. However, nobody out-orbs a defender titan. Nobody.
-
Sunsingers were supposed to be PvE support players, but the only support I see now-a-days is the insurance revive. it's great and all, but not what i imagined before launch
-
I thought defenders were supposed to be the main supports, followed by sunsingers. Afterall, the defender's ability does nothing but buff teammates (unless you have St. 14, where it also applies a non damaging effect to enemies). Correct me if I'm wrong, but defenders seem like the most support class destiny has to offer and has ever had to offer
-
sunsingers are damn good at making orbs
-
Edited by Gaius Michael: 8/5/2015 5:23:03 AMThey are, but they have a limit per super edit :(and) 1 scorch melee. Defender titans (properly speced for this, of course), generate 5-6 orbs per bubble, melee kill while force barrier is active generates orbs, heavy weapon kills have a chance to generate orbs (and its a pretty high chance, too). Combine this with ruin wings and an HMG like corrective measure with surplus and field scout, where you have 100 rounds per mag and a heavy brick gives you about 250 rounds, and....
-
also you can melee for orbs with defender lol
-
melee kill while force barrier is active generates orbs
mentioned that, but thanks
-
my bad >< ugh need more coffee
-
why was that made into a link?
-
its all good.
-
anyways, let me know what you think of this setup if you ever run it?
-
It's a really great way to run, and if you need to use guns in most of destiny's stuff (Except on bosses and when you're a level under), you're doing something wrong.

Song of Flame is, in my opinion, the most underrated perk in the game
-
I would say that this is caused by the sunsinger being the only class with viable options for the super that are all based on different play styles. Titan bubbles are situational, based on whether armor, blessing, or weapons would be most useful. Striker effects are of rather limited use, hunters should pretty much use nothing but combustion on GG, bladedancers nothing but either more invisibility (if its needed) or razor's edge for offense, and voidwalkers can use whatever they personally find most satisfying (triple bomb does most damage, cancer bomb has AoE, Lance can hit across the map). Only sunsingers have very different playstyle chocies. They can be tank (radiant skin), support (song of Flame), or last resort (fireborn). Since most console players don't understand support, Song of Flame doesn't get used a lot (largely because randoms won't take advantage of it most of the time)

good anal...ysis seriously though :3 good point
-
I've ranted on the topic to friends for thirty or forty minutes before. If I'm in a strike and I generate 25 orbs, you should use your super. It's just common sense. But, yeah, I'll stop writing theses about all of this and let you have a nice night/day, whatever it is where you're at
-
gnight lol I'm in Hollywood, CA
-
Agreed.
-
it's so underrated, that ppl forgot that it even existed... it's a friggin SUPER ability, like lance / shatter nova / vortex nova / weapons of light / showstopper / etc. and ppl have to look up what it is sometimes lol yet it's so good thank you for agreeing. I spent about 12 hours editing that video. i dont settle for lazy uploads like engram openings or trailer uploads, I go all out :) thank you for your time
-
I've tried something similar, although it was a bit pickier and before nothing manacles. Had a helmet with reduces the cooldown of grenades upon orb pickup, ran omnigul with a defender titan, sunsinger warlock (song) and me on voidwalker. Pretty much never shot the entire run (was using obsidian mind to add insult to injury).
