So according to the latest news, you will not be able to upgrade legendary year one weapons/armor. All those dragon strikes for Hopscotch and guess what... there will be stronger ones out. Those fancy adept weapons from trials... pfft sit down, we got bigger and better ones coming. Oh wait, the mighty Fatebringer will be no more. Gotta love the direction this game is heading in. 10 years people this is the plan. Mean while, $1000 later, regrind again.
In case you people still want to call it a MMO *cough From Bungie-
Destiny is a first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie and published by Activision. Released on September 9, 2014, Destiny marked Bungie's first new franchise since the Halo series. Set in a "mythic science fiction"
I love it! The flames are rising in the forums now. So many similar topics all over the place. I might change my name to Firestarter. Keep up the good work. This stuff is gold, especially when bored at work. I need more entertainment. Not sure how long this topic will stay alive before it's nuked like a previous topic I created. I also appreciate the defenders justifying their hard earned time. Keep telling yourself it wasn't all for nothing.
Picture your favorite car... Do you buy the next model each year or do you hold onto it because you love it? Too expensive, no problem. Do you buy new ice cream every week or do you stick with what you love? You have your comforts and so do I.
Have a nice day!

New year, new weapons. Roll with it! I'm personally really excited about starting again with a new subclass and weapons

Did your grind ever mean anything it's just a game. I know people love it so do I, but saying "your digital nothing meant nothing in the ocean of code of nothing real" is NOTHING. Didn't you enjoy it if you didn't then why are you even on the forums, why haven't you quitted yet. Didn't you have fun while it lasted move to another game. Count all the games you don't play anymore. Did you enjoy them more than destiny if you did then why aren't you playing them right now!

All ttk is is a reset the grind dlc.

Bump for later. Pls reply.

Edited by SpankyMcSpanky: 8/5/2015 12:05:41 AMIf you're worried that your hard work IN A VIDEO GAME is going to be invalidated soon, then you need to re-think your life choices. You people need to learn to let go. Destiny is a ten year endeavor, you seriously thought you were going to use your VoC or Fatebringer for 10 years? OP is literally retarded.
-
My grind has built a clan of over a 100 gamers who will move forward to the taken king and destroy it.
-
Move on dude. Fatebringer has been the PvE king for a long while. Its time to try something new. Besides, most people aren't gonna dismantle it anyway. Time to give another weapon(s) the spotlight. Besides, bungie has more info about old gear and weapons after gamescom so hold on to freakin britches for cryin out loud. Destiny is an mmo. Once year 10 rolls around, you'll have memories many others won't or didn't get the chance to enjoy to the fullest. You'll look back and be like "oh I remember when me and my friends did vault of glass when it first came out" or "I remember when fatebringer was king" and all that stuff. Your grind wasn't a waste.
-
Grind is always meaningless.... now serious, what do you expect? To achieve some everlasting advantage? That because you played since year 1 you'll always have the upper hand for the next 10 years? Tiered progression games need reset points for new players to come in and to equalize power differences that build up over time, simple as that. Destiny may not be an MMO, but gear and the power associated with it, works much like it was one. When a new expansion hits, everyone want to play the new content and have a challenging (but not impossible) fresh experience. That means you have to bring new players, try-hard veterans, and year one casual players to roughly the same power level. Want an MMO where you keep your advantage, where grind isn't meaningless? Try real-life..

“You know, it really doesn’t matter what the media write as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass.” - Donald Trump
-
Welp play it or leave I guess
-
My only problem is that we will be force to delete most of the year 1 weapons and gears, because the lack of vault space.
-
It got me plenty of places. I've killed lots of alien pirates, ancient machines, Warhammer Space Marine/Imperial Guard wannabes, space zombie cannibals and their heretical false gods. I'd say my gear has aided me in quite a long journey...but there comes a time when you have to step up your game. Until now we've been fighting small skirmishes and poorly organized rabble. Now the war is coming back to humanity's doorstep and Oryx is leading the charge. We'll need some bigger and better tools if we're to keep the Darkness at bay and prevent the snuffing out of humanity's light.
-
My grind was enjoyable for the most part. Sharing the reactions and experience with my friends getting those gears for the first time. I used it fully and would like something new The weapons of HoW werent exiciting to collect because vision/fatebringer can be upgraded. It would be a freaking boring game when its big gimmick is loot collecting while we keep using year 1 weapons towards year 10. I am sure there will be reimagining of popular year 1 weapons coming down the line

Destiny is an mmo (it's just a really bad one) so these things should be expected.....

Honestly, I think a in MMO (which in essence was what Bungie was TRYING to achieve with Destiny) is all about the journey, enjoying the ride, and taking in the sights, I will keep the few trophies I've got and cherish their sentimental value (even if I can't USE them) and use the new, more effective weapons and armor. And at the end of year two I'll do the same again. Out with the old, and in with the new, it's all a cycle of renewal. And by the end, we will all have our legend. But maybe not in the way we'd hoped... But this is all a foray into new territory for Bungie, they will learn, or they will fall face down in the mud, that's how the industry works.
-
O.G. raid weapons and rare legendaries should always be supported even if we are limited to a number (7) of items to ascend beyond year one.. I should be able to suit up in year one armor, it's part of MY story. I Want to reach in the vault 3 years from now and grab a still-relevant Fatebringer, Messenger, VoC etc.. Newbs should fear and respect the originals and the grind to get them. There may be a dozen better hand cannons in TTK but there is only one Fatebringer and it's a part of my year one experience that I'd like strapped to my side in future expansions. It's part of my legend.
-
It's time to move on dude. It's time to put the fatebringer away and reach for something new. Is change really that demeaning to you? To insult and feed people with fallacy? Jesus. Get over yourself. Stop blowing things that are minuscule out of proportion.
-
Honestly, year one exotics shouldn't carry over. Just my OP.
-
I'm really just happy to see you get shit on.

Edited by Batman: 8/5/2015 3:29:18 AMApparently you don't understand how progression works

My grind meant something. Who are you to tell otherwise?
