So according to the latest news, you will not be able to upgrade legendary year one weapons/armor. All those dragon strikes for Hopscotch and guess what... there will be stronger ones out. Those fancy adept weapons from trials... pfft sit down, we got bigger and better ones coming. Oh wait, the mighty Fatebringer will be no more. Gotta love the direction this game is heading in. 10 years people this is the plan. Mean while, $1000 later, regrind again.
In case you people still want to call it a MMO *cough From Bungie-
Destiny is a first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie and published by Activision. Released on September 9, 2014, Destiny marked Bungie's first new franchise since the Halo series. Set in a "mythic science fiction"
I love it! The flames are rising in the forums now. So many similar topics all over the place. I might change my name to Firestarter. Keep up the good work. This stuff is gold, especially when bored at work. I need more entertainment. Not sure how long this topic will stay alive before it's nuked like a previous topic I created. I also appreciate the defenders justifying their hard earned time. Keep telling yourself it wasn't all for nothing.
Picture your favorite car... Do you buy the next model each year or do you hold onto it because you love it? Too expensive, no problem. Do you buy new ice cream every week or do you stick with what you love? You have your comforts and so do I.
Have a nice day!

Edited by TheBran127: 8/4/2015 6:35:36 PMDo you people think you are going to reach lvl 40 immediately? With light levels gone, you will essentially be level 20 again. That's 20 levels to progress through and current gear should help. Yes it's not going to be the all powerful anymore but it will give you the leg up to obtain lvl 40. It just won't be the best anymore.

Still too early to jump to conclusions. I can see both sides of the battle here. I wasn't too impressed with how weapons but if they actually put weapons in the game on par with the ones we have now, Ok. However, all those raids, crucibles, strikes, iron banner, for that one weapon you want. Only to have an EXPANSION make them obsolete? That doesn't seem right. Should be able to keep all your weapons and armor throughout. Now Destiny 2, then start all over.
-
Edited by a clumsy scrub: 8/4/2015 6:22:39 PMIll keep my favourite crucible gear because that will still work for sure. Also, unless they make the raids above level 36, they will work there too. People gotta chill and just see what happens.
-
I don't understand the point of grinding...I can kill you with whatever weapon I want in crucible (try-hard pants) and I can make any weapon work for PvE. And before the statisticians here go all berserk on my k/d, I don't care. I don't play the game to have a good k/d. I play it to spend time with friends all over the world. I am a huge PvE fan anyway. I think the annual reset for everyone is a great thing. Levels out the playing field and makes everyone and every new thing relevant. #CasualPlayer
casual because this a video game, not a job
-
Destiny isn't even a grind. It's more like a giveaway.
-
My weapons will still do good in regular crucible. I'd love to collect new weapons for PvE
-
Relax guys, you still have a month and a half to enjoy the content we currently have, that should be more than enough 'till TTK gets released.
-
Why they hell would you want old weapons to continue? They become stale and boring. If the destiny franchise continues through the ten years, they would need new weapons to keep refreshing the already stale game.
-
Why the -blam!- do people always bitch when they make better weapons. I'm happy if i don't have to constantly use fatebringer
-
I don't see how this is different than any other MMORPG. For example, you never stop getting newer and better gear in Warcraft. What we really need is a transmog system like WoW has so we can keep the super cool looking stuff.
-
Maybe it meant nothing to you, but I had an amazing year. I'm proud of everything I did, and it meant something to me. Because of what I did, my guardian's legacy can continue forward from what I've done. It's much more than new TTK players can say they've done, and I'm happy I've been with this game from the start. I'm sorry you don't feel the same.
-
No one apparently played with a progressive gear upgrade system before... What did you get out year one? Nothing physical...you never did. What you did get was entertainment(the point of all video games)...If you didn't then you did was your time
-
What a joke all the vog raids n crota raids for nothing . Really bad move in my opinion......damn my supremacy is useless soon
-
Where does it say you can't?
-
While I'm slightly upset, this is expected, and welcome. I just wish considering this game is big on weapon sets, they would do something to corroborate players who have them all.
-
It is interesting that it comes one day after the last IB. It is like calling you names multiple times.
-
Yeah that's what upsets me the most
-
Yup, it's all for nothing every year. Sad to say, Bye, Bye Destiny, your to expensive.
-
Welcome to the world of progression, gear based gaming!!!
-
This is how all mmo's work..new expansion and level cap means new stronger weapons. Why is anyone surprised or complaining? Have none of you played an mmo before? You think when a new expansion for world of warcraft comes out people use all their current weapons and gear in it? Lol no, there are new ones.
-
Edited by Pixel Crisis: 8/4/2015 6:10:01 PMAnd? So we can guess that you've never played a proper mmo before? In a proper mmorpg when a dlc drops, greens out class your hard earned purple raid weapons by miles. Glad bungievision is finally catching on to how this whole thing is supposed to work. They even said there will be some better versions of previous legendaries....should be interesting. P.S. - your exotics are coming with you, just not your legendaries. Also normal crucible will still be a place to use old legendaries as it always has.
-
Yup. And for this reason, I am done with destiny. I have 2k hours invested. My grinding and play are being made irrelevant as they are effectively forcing restarting the grind. There isn't even any point in playing raids anymore now. Farewell destiny, it was utterly awesome while it lasted.
-
Because all the time I used those guns meant nothing I can't use them another year. Suuuuuure... Because up till this point I've had no use out of those guns and having them was pointless.
-
Wow how soon it got cut off.. 2 expansion pack and and rest is long hours of grind lol what a joke
-
Same thing will happen what happened during TDB. Nobody will give a damn
-
I'm 110% cool with the new system. I prefer the old school leveling system. Don't care if I'm old-fashioned. Lol
