What's up guys! I'm filling in for xFILxx for the remainder of the weekly event. So here is the first riddle of the day.
Who/what am I?
"I have always existed, and I shall continue to exist in this place. An endless contemplation and an everlasting light, living in such a dark place. I am part of something more, though my origin is unknown. I shall only be unveiled to those who are worthy, and so many have died to reach me. Past the sea, where existence is not a guarantee, I remain, patiently waiting for the moment where the planets may align, and I may leave my prison."
Hint 1: So many of you have seen me before, though not nearly as many as before. I am designed for creatures of calculation.
Hint 2: My home is inside a winding passage, where creatures that control existence roam freely, waiting for new prey. Only a third can have me, but even then, I am not a guarantee.
Winner: SleepingFate
Answer:
Fragment of the Prime
Explanation:
"I have always existed, and I shall continue to exist in this place."
The Fragment of the Prime is a Warlock bond from VoG that existed since vanilla Destiny and can still be obtained in VoG.
"An endless contemplation and an everlasting light, living in such a dark place."
The description of the Fragment of the Prime is "it glimmers with a ceaseless calculation" and the bond itself sparkles in the game all the time. The bond is found in the gorgons labyrinth in VoG which is a darkness zone in the game.
"I am part of something more, yet my origin is unknown."
The name of the class item "Fragment" of the Prime suggests that it is part of something bigger, but nobody really knows what that something is.
"I shall be unveiled to those who are worthy, and so many have died to reach me."
Only warlocks can obtain the Fragment of the Prime from the VoG chest, and there are always people that manage to die while traveling down the cave to reach the chest from the Templar stage. There is also the fact that people often die during the Templar battle, which precedes the chest.
"Past the sea, where existence is not a guarantee, I remain, patiently waiting for the moment where the planets may align, and I may leave my prison."
In the grimoire of VoG, Kabr refers to the Oracles/Tenplar as the "sea" that he drank of. The oracles control existence and can easily expunge guardians. The chest where the Fragment of the Prime can be obtained comes immediately after the Templar battle. Since RNG plays a factor in obtaining the class item, sometimes the planets need to align for you to obtain it.
