To be honest the biggest factor is what type of game do you enjoy playing the most? Which company has exclusives that cater more to your tastes. Most big name FPS games are multi console so those don't matter which console you get (for the most part there are some perks one console may have over another but the base game is available to all). So its more about your friends and the exclusives that are available. Since you have a Xbox previously with MS's new released information that they are allowing backwards compatibility for 360 games that is definitely a positive in the Xbox corner for your situation. Plus you already have the online subscription so you can continue rather than having to purchase this if you got a playstation. Now this being said from just pure games stand point the PS4 has won this generation in terms of being the best of the new systems. It has almost 2 times the number of sales as the Xbone does for this generation. And the PS4 is designed as mainly a gaming console that can also do other things (like Netflix and play blue rays). Where as the initial design of the Xbone was a all in one cable box system for your household entertainment that can (oh yea) play games. So the philosophies of the different companies are pretty apparent at least regarding their initial direction. Since this though MS has definitely taken strides to minimize this glaringly obvious gap in the difference between the consoles regarding gaming vs all in one (when you spend the first 45 min of your console announcement conference without even mentioning a game then its hard to argue that it is primarily a gaming console). For me personally staying with Sony was the better choice. Why? Friends that I already had plus more games that I enjoy....plus Naughty Dog (need anything else really be said about this?). But with the recent announcement regarding backwards compatibility and the fact that you have already paid for Live I would say Xbone would probably be your personal better choice (assuming that these are the deciding factors that I have mentioned). If MS didn't come out with backwards compatibility then I would have stated that for a gaming console you should get the PS4 since it has definitely been the console that has pushed games since day 1 vs MS who is just now catching on to the fact that a gaming console needs to be more about the games and less about the everything else it does.
