No company is perfect, but I still see little but unbridled "lol Bungie sux" mentalities in many of these threads, which disappoints me to no end. However, I do appreciate the work you have personally done to keep the better parts of Bungie's stories alive.

At the same time Bungie is hailed as the greatest game company created.

Not from what I've seen. Both companies have their problems. Bungie's are in the story department, and 343i's are mainly gameplay issues. I try to stride the line on issues like this.
-
Maybe my memories of Bungie.old are creeping in... Anyway, I'd actually even disagree with Bungie not having gameplay issues.
-
I know there's some, especially in Halo 3, but their problems were often dealt with in patches and such. 343i took a long time to balance a lot of the issues in Halo 4 and the MCC.
-
You weren't on Bungie.net during the Halo 3 or Reach days, were you?
-
I was, but I was a lurker. Didn't make an acct till now.

Everything about Halo 3 and Reach was scrutinized to oblivion. As a game designer, I can now understand why some of those features weren't liked. For comparison, you stated that it took a long time for 343i to balance Halo 4's sandbox. In that same amount of time, Bungie only fixed Halo 3's melee system.

I know that. But people learned to work around most of the problems with the game, which probably explains my lack of remembrance of them.
-
"I don't remember the problems therefore they weren't actually problems." What!?
-
Not what I said. It would have been better if they were fixed, but instead people were forced to work around them. It sucked. :-(

That's basically what you're saying, whether you mean to or not. There was no "work-around" for Halo 3's broken melee system. I'm off-topic on my own thread now, so this'll be my last reply. No hard feelings though. You like Halo, and that's all that matters.
