What Luke Smith really had no appreciation for is just how venomous the reaction might be from a fully-pussified generation of entitled whiners. I've read the article, and I see nothing more than a developer a little overconfident in his product. He probably didn't imagine that his every word would be over-analyzed, with the vocal minority on here working themselves into a frenzy over silly marketing trinkets. This ridiculous exercise in group think has allowed some of you to take great offense that an authority figure supposedly DARED speak down to you. I can't wait until some people on here find themselves in the real world where not everyone is "mad chill" and where no-one speaks to you in a gentle tone. (Besides your parents that is.)
Your proposed scheme won't work, any more than the thousands of "don't buy gas on X day" slacktivist schemes that preceded it.

You. I like you. Whiny little shits all over the forum living in a fantasy world where everything is supposed to be handed to them. They'll get a rude awakening when they have to start earning a living and move out of mom and dad's basement.

I hate to sound insensitive, but i really do hope these wastes of life die off before they enter the real world. I am a construction worker and have always had to work pretty hard for my money. I have a 6 year old daughter that has had to earn pretty much everything she owns. I want her to understand the importance of pulling her weight in life, granted most of the chores she has had were menial, but she still had to work for what she wanted. I just don't want all of the no life gimmie gimmie gimmie kids undermining the values that I am trying to instill in her.

What generation of gaming do you come from? Because I've been playing since ColecoVision and your mistake is presuming that this generation is entitled in the least. We were around in the old days to experience a time when developers made full complete games with all the content you could ask for instead of fcking them over behind paywall after paywall after paywall. You can argue that it's just the way this generation is, but if you look around, there are plenty of developers that still do make games with tons of content and don't rip gamers off the way that Activision and Bungie does. I can list a ton of them if you'd like. It isn't about the money it's about the way they lead us along a trail of breadcrumbs like dumb sheep. And you are calling us entitled? It's them who takes liberties with OUR hard earned money. Wake up, dude. You are part of the problem.

You're a relative OG compared to me I guess, our first system was an Atari 7800. That would place you as older than me, and completely outside of the generation I'm speaking of. That would also make you highly likely to have witnessed the evolution of these kind of groupthink attacks going back to the pre-internet days of message boards! If that is indeed the case, you know it's pointless to engage in the back and forth in this discussion. You think I'm wrong, I think you're an enabler...in the end little of what we say on the internet actually matters. If you're so dissatisfied with the product then don't buy it. But now you and the other lemmings have some further proof that not everybody is afraid to call you out when you start the crybaby-with-another-petition schtick.

Edited by R-E-D-C-E-L-L: 6/23/2015 7:55:27 PMMy reply to you? Final Fantasy A Realm Reborn. Wherein gamers bombed Square Enix's game as the trash it was and they were forced to go back and redesign the thing from the ground up and humble down for the biggest apology of their careers. And now the gamers are happy as peach pie again and gladly paying 15 a month for the content of the game. Public opinion is god, sir, it does force companies to recant their greedy policies, lest they be on every gaming aggregator site dealing with an eventual plummet of consumer confidence and an investment crisis. No company likes to deal with being a high risk investment, EA is also a perfect example of this.

But that FF-type situation that you've referenced doesn't actually apply here. This game isn't/wasn't THAT broken, I've been playing it since launch like many others. They've been listening to the chorus since launch, with resulting changes that have nerfed/buffed/and nerfed again entire weapon classes alongside changes to specific weapons. They made one big mistake when they rushed TDB to market and were summarily throttled by their fanbase over the lackluster raid and lack of content. They listened, and came up with patches AND a dlc that made major changes based on our feedback. Very few have even played TTK yet, but are lashing out as if bungie has already failed them once again. The real problem is that sense of entitlement that leaves so many on here feeling let down because of their preconceived notions of fairness. Let's just agree to disagree here, neither of us are going to win the internet today. (And you know how the old meme goes.....)
