I really had to think about this thread because I understand that Off topic is filled with extremely intolerant people especially republicans.
...but putting that aside, I'm going to post my opinion on veganism.
First of all, veganism signifies not consuming any animal and/or animal byproduct. The reason why veganism shouldn't be an option, and the whole American populous should become vegan is for the sole purpose of being healthy, more aware of the food consumed, and stop animal deaths. Yes, meat should be banned from the states.
Before you go bashing me, remember that there is a positive correlation with veganism and intelligence. Not only will the U.S. be more intelligent, but animal farms would be banned, no more animal deaths, the average American would lose more weight, and we can come up with state of the art technology to increase crop yield organically and sustainably. This would be a huge step for human progress, and this would make the U.S. more intelligent.
But that's only IF you repubtards allow the government to ban meats, so we can progress as a whole.
Correlation does not equal causation. Vegans are more likely to not be poor. Comparing rich vegans to poor meat eaters could cause problems in the study.

Sorry, I don't wanna look like an 90 year-old woman.

As I write this I'm eating a greasy bacon cheeseburger. Isn't this the land of the free? We can eat whatever we want.
-
Edited by jules: 6/23/2015 7:53:07 PM1. Correlation does not equal causation 2. This will never happen, it's not because the U.S. Is filled with republicans, it's because of how vegans are usually viewed as hippies. There's also the fact that meat is a multi-billion dollar industry, and making an entire industry illegal hasn't worked out in the past (prohibition) 3. No one wants to do this, meat tastes good.

If you're vegan that's fine but don't try to stuff your lifestyle down my throat because it's annoying as -blam!-.
-
-
If your vegan you cant eat burger and without burgers your never happy
-
If you want to be a vegan, cool, as long as you don't force it on other people
-
Stop it, you're scaring away potential liberals.
-
This is why no one likes vegans.
-
if I can't eat animals guess I will have to settle with eating you, never tried cannibalism before so I don't think I will enjoy that. In that case I will stick to eating animals as we have done since our Neanderthal days. Nothing against vegans but that diet should be a choice no one should be forced into it. Also as a vegan can you eat cheese? or is that not allowed?
repubtards
Step one to making an intellectual debate: don't call someone who holds different opinions insults. It just degrades the debate to mindless name-calling.
-
There are no cellulose digesting enzymes in the human body. We are not meant to eat only plants. I could get behind being vegetarian, but veganism is a little extreme.

Im plenty more intelligent than most...and plenty are more intelligent than me..... One problem....the people more intelligent than me? They're not very bright. Believe it or not, there is a difference between being smart and being bright.
-
... The animals will -blam!-ing rise up and take over the world you idiot. Don't think it happened before ? Look at the Black Plague cover up a disease ? Lmao Bish please that was animals
-
You know, actually, meat is a natural and necessary part of the human diet. Stop

Veganism isn't healthy per se, but from an environmental point of view, meat consumption must go down - it is at unsustainable levels.

I always thought it had a direct correlation with douchiness and smugness.....
an all vegan country would create too much smug, destroying the ecosystem they claim to be protecting

I'm joking
