So you're complaining about something that's been common practice for every industry for decades.
I now call the current generation the Tumbler Generation, aka the generation that complains about stupid shit that isn't worth complaining about.

'EVERY' industry? I literally just bought another car this morning, for $500 over their inventory amount. Why? Because it's the fourth car in the last three years. And I'll buy another one next year too. Customer Loyalty. My Real Estate Lawyer doesn't even charge me anymore when I buy or sell property. Why? Because I send him tones of referral business. Customer Loyalty. My own business, you ask? You bet! The fees I charge are always less for Repeat and Referral clients. Why? I truly value their patronage, and want them to use me again. Customer Loyalty. From Plastic Surgeons to Tattoo Artists, almost every face-to-face business practice rewards consumer loyalty. But not the video game industry. Nope. Not them. This seems lost on so many people. Were you raised in a digital generation that has lost all concept of what it means to truly appreciate another for what it is they offer you, and for how they enrich your existence? Destiny/ Bungie/ Activision ... All nothing without their player base. Thanks for honouring that loyalty.

That's probably the only thing you have on me, the customer loyalty thing. Except that your examples are largely based on industries where you have to buy something. You have to buy a car in order to get anywhere you live (exceptions with buses, trains, etc. of course, which even then is a "required" purchase). You have to buy a home, apartment, etc. because you need to have some form of shelter. I can't comment on your business as I'm not sure what it is (and honestly I don't care enough to want to know). Video games however are 100% optional, unless you work in the industry or have a condition that requires gaming as a form of therapy. All you gain from games are fond memories which don't really increase your standing in life. All this complaining is just trying to make wasted time seem worth something even though it's not worth anything. Especially when it's become clear that game devs don't truly listen to message boards. Want Bungie or Activision or any other game company to listen? Stop playing the game, play something else, maybe actually accomplish something truly important (which I feel you have already done), and don't come back. I'm getting tired of going to forums for any game and seeing keyboard warriors complain over trivial shit. Civil rights and the like are things worth fighting for; a stupid video game isn't.

This is a faceless gaming industry, not your car dealer buddy from down the street that you have know for 20 years, get real.
-
You are talking about services. They provide a product for us not a services
-
I know, right? RIGHT? Otherwise how would we all connect online? Can't be a service based industry, can it? Do you even 'consumer'? Got a credit card? Bet it rewards your loyalty. Collect any other type of commodity based rewards program, like AirLines miles or hospitality points etc? Ever travelled to Vegas? All based on Loyalty rewards. Why? Because they work. Consumer Loyalty. Get Some.

Why didn't you bitch when CoD dropped it DLC price? Did they give you anything?? No!! You paid for TIME!!!!!!
-
How come you don't bitch about Xbox live? They don't give you a discount you pay the same price as everyone else.
-
Don't correct him. From depreciating assets to tattoo art, this guy is going to turn around our economy by challenging the price of DLC content.
