"Haven't been here for a while."
Curiously I look about the expanse that is the Dojo. It's similar to the original, but new. Fresh even, not just for the feel and aura of the place, but the mindset that comes with it.
There are things I miss as I watch the fights. People I miss as I listen to laughter. My mood turns, ever nostalgic for the olden times.
Of a wolf, a blue phoenix, a hero who became the ultimate villain; a feather, of parties and karaoke. A fierce commander and a cynical Canadian sniper. Smiling sadly I walk an unbeaten path to the outskirts of the Dojo. The raucous noise faintly dying with each forward step. There is a tree ahead. Singular for the vast field it inhabits. Wild wheat bends in the breeze around. The sun brings out its golden hue.
Soft to the touch as I open my palm and brush my hands against the lively plants. Curiously the wind plays with my long curly hair. The darkness of it contrasting with the golden landscape. I will not pull it back, instead the hair wildly plays with the wind in some game I do not understand.
Reaching the tree I place a hand against its trunk. The shade spreading far with its root system. Offering a cool reprieve from the beating sun and light music with the wind through its bows.
"Hello old friend, you've grown since last I saw you."
Leaning my back against the tree I look out over the Dojo.
"It's gotten bigger, just like you hasn't it?"
Looking at my small feminine hands I chuckle a bit. "But I suppose true character never changes? Just like I have not changed... Much anyways."
Sitting down at the base of the old tree, I close my eyes and lean my head back. With a deep sigh comes relaxation.
