The comments saying it's practice and skill are funny. Destiny's aim assist does all the work for you. Go land some 500+ meter headshots in Battlefield and then we'll talk about sniping skill. Bullet drop separates the men from the boys.

I haven't played BF4 yet. I stopped playing battlefield games after 3. BFBC2 was my favorite and always will be. How would you compare BF4 to Bfbc2 and BF3?
-
3 is my favorite of the series. 4 is pretty good too but I don't like the maps as much.
-
Bf4 sniping for life!
-
I remember not even touching engineer, assault or support and having my recon class fully leveled, and just popping a radio beacon and sniping the whole game, bf4 is an awesome game
-
You were the guy on my team I would seek out the whole game and splatter with my vehicle. Battlefield 4 is a great game indeed.
-
You can't splatter what you can't get up to m8
wasting jets since some time in 2000
-
Ok I'm being honest here I hate battlefield but I tried sniping I'm amazed by anyone who could snipe on that its insane like thumbs up good work I'll never get it but I do believe destiny requires skill also just not as much and slightly different skill
-
It does take skill in Destiny but the aim assist is insane. I think it's more about map knowledge than weapon handling skill in Destiny. And with Supers and Heavy Ammo, the game becomes completely unpredictable and chaotic at times. That's what sets Destiny apart from other games and I like that.

Lol 500+ meters are easy, and I don't even use an SRR-61 or how the cod boys call it "the intervention". My farthest range shot was from 1700+ meters from the US spawn on Silk Road out to Foxtrot with snipers and people using the power guns being the victims. BF4 sniping takes a lot of skill, but if you know bullet drop and travel time, you'll beast. Destiny sniping also takes skill, because it's mainly CQC maps all the time and snipers don't one hit to the body like cod.

Edited by iMoto Bro: 6/13/2015 11:07:21 PMBF4 was a buggy mess at launch and it took a year and half to finally get the game working like it should with the Spring 2015 Update. I'm starting to get into BF4 again because of the new changes that came with that update. But I still play BF3 because it's still the best game in the series in my opinion. Sniping at extremely long range is much easier now with Rangefinders, 20x & 40x scopes, and the ability to zero your scope to certain distances. None of that was available in BF3. I should have specified that in my original post. You can zero your scope to 500m in BF4 and not even have to worry about bullet drop at all. So obviously it's easy in BF4 now. In fact, it's too easy and not nearly as rewarding as sniping was in BF3. It took more skill and the highest zoom was only 12x. Even Destiny has scopes with 20x zoom (maybe even more with Custom Optics equipped) and the maps are tiny.

Highest scope zoom is 8x for destiny. Range finders are useless when you've put in a lot of hours as a sniper and learning maps. And zeroing is super easy like you said, but that's actually a real life sniper mechanic. Now I can't remember where I exactly got this info, but "zeroing" IRL, is something along the lines of changing the angle of your scope ever so slightly to help you deal with longer range targets.
-
Not even just drop, there's travel time too and that's for everything.
-
I did land some 500+ meter headshots in battlefield. With the M8A01 or whatever it's bullshit name is with huge bullet drop... And I snipe well in Destiny so, sue me? ;)
-
Of course you'll be good at sniping in Destiny if you've played Battlefield or Halo first. Just about every game has less aim assist than Destiny. And in CoD they have "snap to target" which allows them to quickscope.
-
I loved the drop in battlefield. Feels better when you have to take in distance and direction/speed the enemy is moving...such a satisfying kill lol
-
Thank you! Enough said.
-
If the aim assist does all the work for you, why are all those stats so low? Destiny, Halo 3, And Halo Reach. Games with mostly hit scan environments, ouch.
-
Word. Anyone who was playing since day one remembers the initial surprise of how easy sniping is in destiny.
-
Lmaoo. I think my best shot in BF3 was a headshot on Caspian Border at 1,200 meters. Hbu??
-
Edited by iMoto Bro: 6/13/2015 9:40:04 PMMy best? It was probably on BF3 on the 360 (maps are smaller than PC version) and it was about 550 meters using a 8x Rifle Scope and standing at my deployment on one of the Endgame map playing CTF. I hit a guy on a rooftop in the middle of the map. I know that the distance isn't hugely impressive compared to BF3 or 4 on PC but I don't lay on mountain tops being useless to my team. I play aggressively even when using the Recon class. It takes more skill to snipe on close quarters, which is more fun anyway. I'd rather have a good score at the end of the match rather than land one huge 1000 meter headshot. Sniping isn't my thing, I'm simply saying that it's much more difficult in Battlefield than it is in Destiny. Plus everyone knows at a certain distance skills go out the window and it all becomes luck. Landing a 1000m headshot on a moving target is pure luck. Hitting another sniper that's laying on another mountain or rooftop isn't impressive either.
-
Right just like it's not impressive as to you hitting a guy laying prone on a building not moving...
-
You like making a fool out of yourself huh? You obviously don't understand the mechanics of Battlefield. Not that I expect a CoD kid reject to get it anyway.
-
Snipping in CoD Destiny and Halo takes gun skills BF takes retard skill. Nobody cares if you can hard scope and figure out bullet drop.
-
Ha I've played every battlefield and know the mechanics...and COD is the lame so yeah I'm pretty sure I'm way better in battlefield and destiny then you..if there were private matches ide 1v1 you..with no hesitation
