I consider myself a decent sniper, but when I go into Crucible, I'm wrecked beyond belief. There are guys who headshot me the very second they scope in. It's -blam!-ing ridiculous! I don't understand how they do it!
EDIT: A lot of people are saying that they get their skill from Halo. However, I actually snipe very well in Halo, but not-so-well in Destiny.
-
Not going to say I'm a beast sniper because I'm not, but I do like to bust out my NLB whenever I go into crucible. I do hit a decent amount of head shots, so yea pretty much practice. That and knowing good spots also help a lot
-
Lots of practice. I used to be very good myself. I played Halo and often I'd just run around and try to hit as many targets as I could. Pick something in the map and just try to hit it, doing all sorts of things like jumping, running. Stop, turn and shoot. Stuff like that. I quit playing shooters and started playing more rpg type games and especially WoW. Now, I'm no longer a very good fps gamer. But, I'm trying to get better.

Edited by EditDesync: 6/13/2015 9:24:52 PMJust gonna put this here... It's the legend himself squad.
-
It might be stick sensitivity. Mines always at insane max which sniping for me uneasy to do, especially trying to prairie dog in and out of cover. XD
-
Just practice. Took me a couple hours to get the hang of it but once you get it, it becomes second nature. Make sure to get a stable sniper though
-
If u didn't grow our exp of shooter games from halo to call of duty to battlefield more or less you won't be skilled with it..you had to feel ur movement and don't use tigt stick to much use left to strafe and place shoot learn head level of doorways or so for then you'll prolly see an increase in your sniping abilities

Practice

Not trying to sound too cocky, but i view myself as a very good sniper. I wouldn't say any game in particular has made me very good at it, i think it is just years of playing has made me able to sweep over heads and just shoot. More of it is positioning and knowing when to engage and when not to. For example, i was playing a Trials game vs a sniper and a dude with thorn. i won, but only because i managed to outplay the sniper and then surprise the dude rushing in with thorn. Most people seem to just be like 'Oh, i'll hard scope down here and i will certainly get a kill' but it doesnt work like that really. Pre-ejaculating by looking at the area that people 'ought' to be leads to them moving there eventually. just kill em and close in on another, especially if they go for a revive

Final round makes everyone a sniper.
-
I work on it every time I'm on my warlock with my NLB
-
Is this thing call, wait for it...
practice
-
Two words. Hidden hand
-
Use a BenQ monitor with 1ms refresh rate and get some Kontrol Freaks. Tell me if your sniping doesn't improve.
-
Mouse
-
It's either final round abusers Or oversized hit-boxes
-
I wouldn't call what a lot of people in crucible do "sniping" as much as final round long range obliteration with efrideets spear.
-
Don't know if OP will even see this but it might be the sniper you're using. I felt the same way at the start of my crucible venture and found Praedyth's Revenge is almost identical to the Halo 2 human sniper from a mechanics standpoint. Handles the same, has similar RoF and target aquisition with 2 body shot kills. Obviously H2 sniper didn't have firefly but you get the point..
-
Hight Aim assist snipers? -- like the Longbow
-
Edited by GreenD614: 6/13/2015 9:23:45 PMSame way you get to Carnegie Hall... Practice... Lol Also, get a sniper with the new perk hidden hand ;)
-
If you're getting killed by efrideets spear with final round, then you're not getting out-sniped, just cheese :P
-
The auto aim is strong
-
No scope sway
-
Idk. It just comes with experience.

Edited by KRIMS0NIT3: 6/13/2015 9:17:45 PMThe sniping mechanics in destiny feel very similar to cod sniping in my opinion and I was very good at sniping in cod, traditional sniping not that 720 quikscopz nonsense, so the destiny sniping just feels like a slightly tweaked version of that where headshots are more important than body shots. Also lots of battlefield sniping has helped my ability to hit moving targets.
-
Practice makes perfect Also, pre-scoping an area where there is expected activity gives that particular sniper an advantage because before you can even aim at them you're already dead
-
I am not really sure how you can do well sniping in Halo, but not Destiny because the aim assist is off the charts in Destiny. I recommend using ambush scope, hidden hand, snapshot, unflinching on something like a Low Grade Humility (I didn't look to see what sniper you were currently using so you might have one that's better) if you are having a difficult time sniping. Also when you say Halo, you aren't talking about Halo 4 right? If so, that doesn't count.
