How are people so good at sniping?!
I consider myself a decent sniper, but when I go into Crucible, I'm wrecked beyond belief. There are guys who headshot me the very second they scope in. It's -blam!-ing ridiculous! I don't understand how they do it!
EDIT: A lot of people are saying that they get their skill from Halo. However, I actually snipe very well in Halo, but not-so-well in Destiny.

The basic idea here is to aim down the sight before your opponent, usually it's the one who shot first.

Her benevolence with hidden hand, has the highest aim assist without the hidden hand, add that with a good scope with good aim assist, and unflinching, you could pretty much aim 5 feet from their head and its a headshot

2 RepliesGot wrecked by a guy with icebreaker the other day... It was insane... I mean I'm a good sniper but still this guy killed me while strafing, jumping, sliding, whatever... I couldn't believe it. I still don't know how he did it but still it was impressive.

5 RepliesI've had those moments where every scope just lands on peoples heads and you're on fire. Believe i actually went on a 10 kill streak with ice breaker while singing Usher - good kisser, but yeah i've seen players who do it every day like it's nothing. I believe its from years of Halo, i mean yeah, COD and Battlefield had harder sniping, but headshots weren't as crucial as they are in Halo. Just years of mostly using snipers

Somtimes I go rushing against someone with a shotgun, and i just get oneshotted by praedyths. I really wanna learn dem skillz

Try high aim-assist snipers. Such as Her Benevolence, Ice Breaker, Prudence II, Eye of Sol and so forth. Also, on all snipers roll for Unflinching and Hidden Hand with the Ambush scope, Shortgaze or Longview. I snipe with a 5 Sensitivity and do very well.

Aim assist is amazing in this game plus it helps if u know the height of the player an where he will be running. If u keep your crosshairs on the approximate height u only have to worry about moving the crosshairs right and left

Let me explain as I have just been taught the ways of the sniper! First you need a good sniper. LDR, benevolence, longbow, or even the spear. They have decent aim assist getting you close to the actual target where you just line the shot up! Weapons like preadyths and icebreaker gives instant body shots and can be good but you should never use these if you want to improve as a sniper because you are tempted to camp (icebreaker) or body spam (preadyths). When it comes to perks you need to find some that fit your playstyle. With mine its benevolence with target acquisition and grenadier so when I am sniping I know something has my back! Just a few hints and tips for you up and coming snipers!

There's no scope away or travel speed. Sniping is so simplified in Destiny it's literally just strafing at head height.

I am new to sniping in Crucible also. It takes a helluva lot of skill to snipe in Destiny PvP *slightly less so for those who simply camp in a corner and snipe the WHOLE match* Sniper headshots are to date the most rewarding kills I've ever had.
