Destiny is the combination of an fps and mmorpg....one is known for story while the other....eh not so much. Destiny for example is full of lore and story (compared to other fps's) but....the lore is kinda random and lacking in consistency.
So my questions: Does anyone really care about the lore? If it flows well? Should there be more lore?
Edit: Thanks for all the feedback! And for the record, I LOVE the lore but I've always felt that Bungie could have woven more of it in the in-game story instead of leaving it on the app and website for the community to hunt for.

I adore the lore in this game. I just wish we got it actually in game other than in cards loo
-
I still do I have so many theories I have made
-
If you really pay attention to the lore, it is very in depth and very well written.
-
No. I've tried reading it but it doesn't get me any more interested. How hard would it have been for bungie to just throw in a few cutscenes ?
-
Love the lore. I just think it should be accessible in game. While I have not been to the lighthouse I have read the osiris card. That one card alone explains so much its amazing.
-
Yes. Personally I love it and read through it all the time. If you take the time to read it all, its actually very interesting. I absolutely love the Fallen lore, especially what was introduced in House of Wolves. Their story parallels our own more than most people realize

The lore is actually quite good, the main problem is that it isn't in the game, you have to go outside and read it somewhere else. They really need something like Mass Effect's codex system with all the Grimmoire in the game, or even something like a Grimmoire library in the tower we could go read the lore IN GAME.

ITS BECAUSE THERE ISNT ONE. This game is nothing more than a quick ruse to make quick money. It's obvious to the educated. The guy they put in charge of the community has no experience AND IS HORRIBLE AT VIDEO GAMES. There's a huge number of hidden, unreleased arenas, boss fights and sparrow racetracks. There used to be gear gambling and trading. There's no matchmaking in the hardest Modes. There is no dlc content. There is no real satisfaction. I have two 34s and gally. Went 9-0 on trials and beat skolas in 50 seconds. I'm done with this trash.

There is potential, but it's...let's say it this way: If it was a book, it could be great. Right now, tied to this game as it is, it's shallow, uninspired and treated like crap overall. So no, I don't care about the lore while playing the game, because the game itself does everything in its power to butcher it. I probably won't buy the next DLC anymore, but if I did, I wouldn't want Bungie to even try to add proper storytelling into the game anymore, because it's just too late. It can't be fixed because the nature and core of the game is what it is. They can try again with Destiny 2 when they don't have to patch gaping wounds with bubblegum.

I do. It has a good vibe to it.
-
I love the stories of Jaren Ward, Dredgen Yor, and Toland
-
I do, I love to gather all the knowledge I can in this game. I admit there is difficulty in putting the grimoire all together, but in the end a flow can be found. It is truly some interesting stuff. Well worth the read.

Considering how many basic questions are still unanswered 2 expansions in....yeah destiny needs a lore overhaul, and it needs it bad...
-
The lore is awesome at first when I started playing the game I didn't care much about it, but know I'm really starting to like it.....
-
Yes but the lore needs to be in the game more.
-
I do. My hope is they incorporate it in the game more and less on the grimoire.
-
Destiny has lore?

Edited by Bobs Big Toe: 6/9/2015 8:11:59 AMAt this point i don't even care about the game and would like to see it go down the plughole to teach those greedy b*stards a lesson to treat their customers with the respect that some of the idiot fanboys give them.

When I first started playing this game I felt the same way, but recently I've been digging into the grimoire and searching lore videos, posting my own forum posts, and I must say I'm loving it. I think right now Bungie is building a large foundation on which they plan to build the rest of the franchise. I also suspect that the parts of the lore that Bungie sees being talked about more and more will be addressed in future expansions. They listen to their community and we have a huge say in what we want to hear about. For example they added a whole card about Thorn and Dredgen Yor in HoW. It had nothing to do with the rest of the current story but I believe it was added just becuase they saw a lot of discussion on the topic! Lemme know what you think!

We're at the first series in a decade long game, it's fine for the lore to be somewhat lacking, but if we're like 7 years into it and it is then hell no
