Well if that's the case, why don't we all just get played to play videogames? What I see it as is someone making money for helping others. Idk about you, but I don't charge people when I carry in vog, ce, or PoE. That's what it comes down to.

Why don't we all get payed to play football?

Football is a professional sport. Videogames can be. However a streamer is the equivalent of someone playing a game of backyard football and letting people watch.
-
Some people like the Streamer, or the content, rather than the skill level itself. As in business, the consumer decides what survives, and gives dollups of dollars to what it likes. Call it survival of the fittest, call it explotation of people, whatever you want. The reason there are only 10ish top streamers is because it's not too easy to do. Most sreamer see it as a labour of love, and as long as the people pay them, they get to do what they want. It's not gonna change quickly, and very few people can make it their full-time job. It's an overrated issue, I believe.

People choose to pay because they want to. I have watched a few streamers, haven't payed a cent. It's done in appreciation. If you want to do it then do it, but like most people who claim they can I doubt you'll find it as easy as you think.

Its not done in appreciation. You obviously haven't noticed all the posts saying they will carry people through ToO if the person follows their twitch and donates. Its done for ToO carries.
