I know in goths case its probably around 120k pretax, not including donations. pretty sure he accidentally spilled the beans on his sub count on a drunk stream one night.
-
-
There's many streamers that make 6 figures...
-
Many? Nope
-
Yes many. It's one of the most successful broadcasting media platforms out there. Try looking it up.
-
I did. Only the top 5% of streamers hit those big numbers. Most stay around the level of 50+ hours a week at a fast food store. It's more enjoyable than fast food work of course, but not a financially easy lifestyle.
-
Enough to support himself and his fiancé. Besides, it was a joke, which seems to have gone over OP's head.
-
Stop defending the guy... I mean, if you are one of his subs, then I understand why you would. But he was NOT joking about punching someone in the face for talking shit to one of his friends. Stop trying to down play what he said, he was serious when he said it. Watch the stream again from Weds.
-
I'm not one of his subs, however I am a viewer who was present on both occasions you've described. First off, my comment here is not even to say he was joking about punching someone for shitting on his friend (which by the way, is something that plenty of people say every day in attempt to provide proper example of loyalty to their friends), he was joking about making, "...all that Twitch money." It was clear and evident sarcasm, and a joke that both him and Gothalion have told on multiple occasions.
-
Nope, what he said is something he ban others for even saying. Look how he reacted to someone sending an email threat. He overacted about reporting the guy to the police, etc. But then forgot that the day earlier he was talking about assaulting someone if they said something rude to his friend. He can't have it both ways, and expect not to be called out on it. Stop trying to defend him with the lame excuse of "plenty of people say"... plenty of people say racists stuff, would it be okay for him to say that also on his stream? I bet you would actually...
-
Okay man, whatever. You're only making it clearer that you don't know what you're talking about. Don't pretend like you know Broman (and no, I don't either), and don't pretend like you know me. At the end of the day, you're just some asshat spending his time complaining on the internet. So farewell, I'm off to live life. Enjoy your ban, as well as your brand new mute.

Allegedly
-
Which bit?
-
Enough to support him and his fiance. Nobody has any idea what his personal life or personal financial situation is. For all we know he could be working at Burger King to make ends meet
-
If that were the case you'd think he'd get off his ass and make something of himself rather than mooch off of everyone else.
-
That's fair. My inferences are mainly based on average tip occurrence, average follower-subscriber ratio, etc. I just find it a bit hard to believe he'd be working another job considering the hours he streams.
-
Jesus God who tips these asshats?? Same people that rain free money stupidly on Kickstarter? I have money and I wouldn't give streamers a dime but that's me. Get a real job and make the world a better place like me.
-
People tip them $500 or more sometimes. I have just recently started checking some of these people out to see what all the fuss was and in the corner it says who is tipping what. I have seen a bunch between $200 and $600! Ridiculous if you ask me.
-
Good god. If my job wasn't what it is I would totally be a streamer.
-
No doubt he probably could support himself, but his costs go way up if he is also supporting a younger wife (babies) who does not have a job. If streaming is the only job between them, he would have to make a pretty good amount considering he has to pay for things like health care out of his own pocket (just one example). It also depends on the type of lifestyle they live as well as where they live. Some families can get by on $20k a year, some can't get by with $100k. Just too many variables IMO
-
Edited by Leon_Le_Lion: 6/5/2015 10:31:20 AMLike I said, I can't be sure. And not wife, just fiancé, who has been getting her masters degree, so I assume no work, but it's possible she may have a part time job. No kids, just him, his fiancé, and brother, presumably in an apartment complex. So he's not paying all bills solo, however they are buying/building a house. But you're right. Too many variables to be certain. All I was really attempting to say is that it makes more than many people believe it to.
-
You claimed you didn't know Broman, but you seem like you know a lot about his life. lol Now I see why you defend him, you ARE one of his fans.
-
I know things about Broman, yeah. But I don't know him personally. Nobody who watches his stream really does.
-
You tried to act like you are not one of his fanboys, but yet you slipped up and revealed that you are one. So it makes sense why you would defend ANYTHING this guy says or does.
-
Edited by Leon_Le_Lion: 6/7/2015 8:39:38 AMI suppose I'm a fan, yeah, I've made no effort to disguise that. Not a fanboy, as it doesn't take copious amounts of viewing to get a sense of who he is, or the information I've relayed on this post. But no, I wouldn't defend anything he were to do or say. There are dozens of lines he could cross about which to me he would be condemned. However, a few passing jokes and the banning of one ever increasingly insufferable jackass do not fall under those lines.
