Treasure keys, are stupid. It's just another thing to tediously grind, and it's ruining PoE. I've seen many posts now complaining about how little you are rewarded for competing in PoE compared to something like ToO, which is far more rewarding. The finger of blame is pointing towards these keys.
Who thought it was a good idea to have to have these things to open the large chest at the end of PoE?! It's a bad idea, a very bad idea. You shouldn't need to use a scarce currency to obtain your reward after doing an hour or so of PoE. Do you see this kind of thing in ToO? No, of course you don't, and that's why ToO is more rewarding and better to play right now! From what I hear, on lower levels, the queens weapons aren't even worth the expense.
Apologies for the rant, but it's a stupid ass idea to need to have keys to obtain rewards that are rightfully yours. The fact that you can only carry a handfull of keys at one time is dumb as well.
EDIT: don't worry guys, looks like Bungie's made it much easier to obtain more keys in this new update. I still think it's a bad mechanic, but for now, at least the grind won't be as severe.

They mentioned this in an update. They are working on a solution to the treasure key drought. Until then I just do it for the armor core/weapon core/etheric light.

why are you trying to farm keys from chests anyway its so daft! my biggest worry is they up key drops... but reduce exotic drops rate from final chest. ive had 3 to 4 exotics from about 6 runs where i have had keys. thats amazing! for me I'm happy, i can get a key once a week with no grind generally. i get the rep for completing PoE and 3 characters can do level 32 and get the armor core, eventually getting to 34. with the one 34 i have i can begin to be more useful in a 34 run. And i can run the level 28 as much as i like with randoms to get motes and strange coins for xur and weapon re-rolls and i get resources and maybe even a key. hell i ran a level 32 with no key got the armor core and a key from the little chest, opened the big chest got universal remote and a legendary weapon, and a titan mark (mark of a kellslayer). from minimal loot to lots of nice loot. [b]For me they shouldn't up key drop rate, they should just ensure completing the queens bounties does give you a key. one key per week per character is perfectly good i think. with extras potentially dropping too[/b]

Lol in turn for getting rid of them they should make PoE harder to beat for treasure and make rewards tiered between difficulties. This will lead to PoE is too hard and it's unfair that good players only get the higher loot.

I play every day for over 3 hours and haven't gotten a key in a week!!! I am not farming for keys when their is so much more to do it's ridiculous

I don't even bother because I don't want the Queen primaries (they're trash) or any exotics (have all but invective). I play PoE for the gear and thankfully he is selling the helmet today

They said they are working on the drop rate which will improve once patch 1.2 comes out. Read the news thing for proof
