So I've been perusing the Destiny forums lately (something I rarely do because I am a firm believer that the secret to a healthy life style is not listening to idiots), and have noticed the insane amount of posts asking for a nerf to Thorn (among other things, we'll be focusing on Thorn here). Now, I have Thorn, I love it, it's my baby. Clearly, I don't want this thing nerfed. So I did some thinking, and came up with an idea that everyone could be happy with. Yes, even us Thorn enthusiasts. What you're about to read could shock and/or scare you, mainly because it's a genuinely good idea, coming from someone in the Destiny community. So, here goes... Instead of nerfing exotics (they're called exotics for a reason), Bungie could just add a new permanent game mode where you aren't allowed to use exotic weapons. Maybe even armor as well if that's easier to code, I wouldn't know. This would mean that those that don't mind, or know how to counter Thorn could continue playing normal crucible, whereas those that can't counter it or don't have it can go play the 'No exotic' mode and continue to get obliterated because it turns out that it's not Thorn that's the problem, it's there own lack of any sort of skill. This game mode would play just like normal Crucible, and there would be four types, the standard Control, Clash, Rumble, and Skirmish, positioned right under the others. None of the Iron Banner/ Trials of Osiris power matters business so that anyone can play. This would also mean people could more easily level their new characters in this game mode because all they'll be playing against are whiny children. I'd like everyone's thoughts on this, whether they'd like a 'no exotics' game mode or not. I myself think it would be great for those days when you just can't be bother to try very hard, and want to have a few casual games instead of going up against pros and tryhards. For those that read this and decide to insult me, or check my stats and try to insult me over that, I'd like to congratulate you on being a massive dick, and I hope your mother knows about how mean-spirited you are. And for those that picked up on the massive amounts of sarcasm and shade-throwing, no this is not a troll post, I truly think this would be a great addition to Destiny.
