Case for the under barrel hand canons.
Recoil is directed straight back instead of up.

That was the concept, unfortunately it doesn't improve perceived recoil, heard from someone who has used one, they said it was worse than the s+w 357's, because it tries to go straight back thru your hand instead of rolling upwards.
