There are, I feel, a few lazy design shortcuts taken in destiny. The guns being one of them. The gravity physics are another lazy design shortcut taken with this game. I actually like this game, but there are a few things with it that just make me feel like they either were high as F--K when they made it or they just stopped caring about the game they were making...or perhaps another reason...

How are the gravity physics a shortcut? If you're talking about things like the moon having earths gravity, it's actually explained in the grimoire

For instance, the explanation that the Traveler normalized the gravity on all of the golden age planets is most likely just an excuse for them not bothering to create different physics for the different planets. Obviously, doing so would generate a much larger work load, so I can at least see the logic in that decision. Still, it would have been cool to have more accurate depictions of gravity on normal planets, rather than a "yeah well, the Traveler... space magic... everything is 'normal' everywhere" explanation. It seems like an obvious case of gameplay dictating story, to me.
