Then ps4 and Xbox one would have more vault space already shouldn't it? I mean only a few people come back to their old gem to play with friends but still if that was the case they could maybe do something for the new consoles, yet they don't.

1 solution. old gen is not a reason. Add new tab/page. easy.

Well yeah. Old gen has memory restrictions on games. That is why bungie disabled gun comparisons to vault to add the extra space

Also, that is why most games list the name of the item. There is not need to load a picture of it.

That is why you add tab pages. Tab for Weapons, tab for Other....
