Excuse you, dog with a blog is the greatest show ever. In all seriousness I think people just look at older shows with nostalgia goggles. We want to like the old shows so that we can claim television used to be good. I'll admit, I wear the goggles every once in a while, but I've found that many of my favorite child hood shows are just as terrible to me now as the new ones are.
