It was nether really explained if the flood infestation on and around Delta Halo was destroyed, I know the Gravemind was destroyed along with the rest of the flood on High Charity an The Ark, but that flood infested cruiser that slipped into Earth at the of The Storm mission in Halo 3 raises questions. Are there other infested ships drifting through space, and was Delta Halo surface glasses by the Fleet of Retribution to destroy the local infestation when they had the ring on quarantine or is it still under quarantine. It would be much appreciated Lord Of Admirals if you could delve deep into thus topic, Cheers M8

  • I apologize I missed this post and am only responding to it now.
It was nether really explained if the flood infestation on and around Delta Halo was destroyed
Large swathes of Delta Halo were glassed by temporarily allied Jiralhanae and Sangheili fleets.
Are there other infested ships drifting through space,
While it is entirely possible that there may have been Flood ships in slipspace during the firing of Halo 100,000 years ago, it seems unlikely that there is from that time or the conflict above Delta Halo. Well, technically there's one: The Spirit of Fire.
or is it still under quarantine.
While it's no longer under quarantine, it is closely monitored by ONIRF Lisbon. Hopefully this answers your questions. Sorry if I missed any, your post was a bit jumbled.

I don't think it actually has been confirmed that the Gravemind was killed at the end of Halo 3.

  • It would have to be, after the destruction of high charity the Gravemind would have been vaporised and if not the premature detonation and explosion of The replacement Halo would have.

There are still many things we don't know about the Gravemind, such as the way it moves around so quickly. Destroying High Charity only upset Gravemind and did little to slow it down, as can be seen on the final mission in Halo 3 where it was still talking to you as you are climbing up the structure to fire the ring. Maybe firing the ring did destroy the physical part of the Gravemind, but since it is an omniscient being, and since all Flood carry it's knowledge in some shape or form, it matters very little if its physical body was destroyed as a proto gravemind(s) are made while the active Gravemind is 'alive' so another Gravemind can be easily made. Even if for some reason there is no proto gravemind in the galaxy, there are still for sure Flood alive as the ring was fired outside of the galaxy. The Flood are the Big Bad along side the Precursors (assuming that some did actually leave the galaxy and their motives are evil and they do eventually come back) so they aren't going away. The firing of all the rings technically didn't stop the Gravemind, it only slowed it down for a hundred thousand years, so I doubt firing one ring will do anything.

  • The Elites glassed Delta Halo thoroughly, and created a defensive line to prevent any infected vessels from leaving the system. The failed to prevent the one that landed in Voi from escaping.
