So how did Johnson, Miranda, and Arbiter get back to Earth so fast after Halo 2?
Ayyyyy 4000th comment
Did they come back on the shadow of intent?
-
Doesn't specify.
-
Now I think about it, probably not as the Shadow of Intent chased the Rogue flood infested ship that managed to escape the delta Halo quarantine zone and land in Earth
-
It doesn't really say how they got to earth at all really, they just kind of show up in halo 3 on earth with no explanation, even though chief left and arrived at earth before them. Supposedly they were taken to Earth by an elite ship. In the comments above, LoA says that chief got to Earth after them because Truth knew Chief was on the forerunner ship and ordered it to stay in orbit around Mars, at which point chief jumped off while going over Earth.
-
Let's just settle that they returned on one of The Elites Fleet of Retribution ships, chasing Truth and the Chief on the dreadnought.
-
Yeah probably. I think that detail was later added by 343, I don't think bungie ever really addressed it.
-
Sangheili-controlled ships that weren't containing the Flood transported any survivors back to Earth.

-
While Chief did arrive in Sol first, his presence onboard the Keyship forced Truth to order the ship in orbit around the Covenant controlled Mars, lest he wanted to bring the Covenant's greatest enemy into the heart of their operations. During this event, Johnson and Miranda arrived on Earth, presumably by a Sangheili warship.

Oh ok, thanks. Congrats on 4000 m8.
-
thx m80 Oh, also, they thought they killed the Chief, which is why they ended up making landfall on Earth at the beginning of Halo 3.
-
That I have no idea. Your guess is as good as mine.

Edited by A Jackal Sniper: 4/22/2015 2:40:39 PMProbably just an overlooked plot detail. Writer error is my guess.

Same here.
