So apparently Bungie tried to patch the Archon Priest Strike in 1.1.2 without telling anyone and did it poorly. You can no longer snipe from above the Vex Waves spawn half way through the strike at all without risk of breaking the whole strike. I had read that you couldn't use the highest rock anymore so I wasn't even that far away. I was sniping from where you shoot the 4 goblins right when you first enter the area. I made it to the second wave just fine and then everything de-spawned and I had to go re-engage the door. [b]After killing the first wave a second time nothing else spawned and I couldn't re-engage the door, I had to just go back to orbit.[/b]
Just trying to make some other people aware so others don't have to waste their time like I did. After some more research a decent way around this is to just leave one enemy and run down there to kill it then sprint back up to the top.

I think that was their method of stopping us from camping that spot. It happened to me this morning while soloing it. Had to warn the rest of the clan so they didn't run into my mistake as well.

I'll be LFG'ing this NF x 3 later on.. if one of the player jumps up to hide and snipe I'll boot him on the spot. It's a triple burn WITHOUT Lightswitch.. get your ass into the fight! What do you think Arena will be? A stand back and hide fest? I'm all for limiting damage but completely avoiding the fight is for pussies.

I killed everything on the top of the rock and left 1 harpy/goblin alive and went to the gate and killed them still went

I always snipe from the ketch ship. Did they patch that too?

You can still snipe from clear up top near the entrance, or wherever. Just make sure to leave one guy alive on EACH wave, run down past the Hob cave across the bridge, and kill him from there. Then run back up to your spot.

It's not the fact they tried to patch it, it's the fact that these butt plugs don't even tell you hiding the fact they did. To all those people who say if you need to snipe you should not be playing the game. I will almost bet everyone at some point in time has sniped from up there. Jesus some of you sound like the crybaby bitches I snipe in other games. If bungie has a problem with people sniping, then maybe bungie should just remove all sniper weapons and restrict us even more with in the game! It's part of the game but, Bungie is quickly wrecking this game slowly and a little bit at a time. Different people play this game different than others so what the hell should it matter to someone else how they play.

Do people really need to be that far away anyway? I've always don't in from the ledge where the 3 major hobs spawn,safe enough.
