Test your lore eh...
Why didn't sgt Johnson get infected in the first game?
Are moa extinct?
Who is Ussa Xellus?
On a scale of 1-10 how deelishous is moa?
Is the didact still alive?
Is there still remaining flood?
Is there still a remaining gravemind?
How do covenant weapons work?
How do A.I.s look how they do? (holographic appearance)
Why didn't sgt Johnson get infected in the first game?
1. He fought his way out. 2. Augmentations he received from the ORION Program made his neural pathways not immediately accessible to the Flood. 3. The Flood were weak, having not received any new biomass in 100,000 years.
Are moa extinct?
No.
Who is Ussa Xellus?
A Sangheili that led an insurgency against the Covenant in its early years.
Is the didact still alive?
Depends on your definition of "alive".
Is there still remaining flood?
Yes.
Is there still a remaining gravemind?
Active in the Milky Way? No.
Is there still a remaining gravemind?
They utilize ionized particles compressed into plasma via the use of magnetic coils that shape and contain the bolts.
How do A.I.s look how they do?
They choose an appearance when they are created based off of the personality of the donor.

I would consider "being incinerated by an exploding portion of Gamma Halo" as not being "alive".

*composed

Did you read Escalation?
However, this time the Master Chief found himself reunited with his fellow members of Blue Team, Spartan-II’s Fred-104, Kelly-087, and Linda-058. Though their battle with the Didact was perilous and proved nearly fatal, the Spartans were able to band together, and with the help of 859 Static Carillion they tricked the Didact into using the Composers on himself. Effectively turned into a digital essence, the Office of Naval Intelligence currently considers the Didact “contained”, though it remains to be seen if his threat to humanity is truly at an end.
Edited by WortWortWarthog: 5/4/2015 3:12:16 PMExcept that's not what happened. Master Chief tricked the Didact into following him into the Control Room of Gamma Halo and Static Carillon promptly detached it from the ring and sent it hurtling down towards the nearby planet, and teleported MC off the structure at the last second. Edit*: Apparently he was composed. That isn't apparent in the actual comic. I assumed that the crash incinerated him.
-
Yeah, I was about to ask if you were really going to dispute 343i on this...
-
It didn't seem for there to be any reason he was composed.
-
Well, the inside of the control room is undamaged, and Chief considering him contained is a pretty good start.
-
I realize that. But why would he be composed now, and not at any other time he is at the Composer's Forge.
-
Because a Composer wasn't being used on him at that time?
-
But what made the Composers activate?
-
Halo.
-
But HOW?!
-
The Activation Index. Why else would the Didact replace the Composer the UNSC took from Installation 03? It's because Halo (or at least Installation 03) was designed to be able to amplify the Composer's energies much as it can amplify the cross-phased supermassive neutrinos.
-
Except isn't the Didact specifically stated to be immune to the Composer?
-
It was never said he was immune.
-
In the Terminals, the Didact himself specifically says "[The Composer] will not work on my new form." Terminal 5.
-
Right. Will not work =/= immune. Nothing was said about multiple composers, and Brian Reed said we would get an explanation.
-
But how did the Composers activate, and especially given that he crashed behind them.
-
The picture you posted answers your own question.
-
Didn't Johnson have some sort of ailment from radiation exposure that kept the flood from infecting him? I could have sworn I read that somewhere. First Strike, perhaps?
-
Boren's Disease. Existing lore strongly suggests it's a fabricated illness created to cover up some of the side effects of the ORION Program.

Nice job You did it
