How did Bungie go down from being a top tier game developer to this....
even the user rating is 6/10...

How much would YOU rate Destiny??
To me this game is a 6/10 mainly due to how addictive it is to play with others in strikes and raids... everything else needs MAJOR improvements and where is that story at?
but i did get my money's worth after 500ish hours

Internet hivemind is a powerful (and incredibly stupid) force
-
That's a very generous score. At launch it was probably a 6/10. Mediocre, lacks content, but mostly fun and very addictive. As of now it is slightly better, but one thing this game sure isn't missing is room for improvement.

8.43/10

"The most highly anticipated 7 out of 10"

Meta critic has had a past of being paid to give more favorable reviews and who the hell listens to critics if im correct many critics gave forrest gump 3 stars but isnt that a rather iconic and amazing film in the eyes of many?

9.5/10

I think if I gave it any less than 9/10, i'd be a massive hypocrite. Despite its obvious, and well documented flaws, the game has had its hooks in me since day one, and I can't stop playing it!
-
It comes with its frustrations but the enjoyment I've gotten out of raiding with friends and meeting new people to game with is at least a 9 out of 10. If Bungie would add a "NO SUPER" playlist for PVP I would say 10. The mechanics in this game are fantastic but the lack of gun on gun play in PVP due to all the cheap OSK BS is really frustrating.

Edited by Skatecrete: 3/24/2015 2:29:51 PMAs a hugely devoted gamer to Destiny and more than 45+ days logged. I guess I'd have to average it out... Overall I'd be around 7/10 I suppose but very good reasoning. 4/10 on storyline. If you read the grimoire it doesn't match the main story well and there's a lot of holes and mixing plots, including the new DLC storylines trying to be squeezed in. 10/10 on addiction. Captivating shooter. So many different combinations of guns. Endless possibilities to get better gear and exotics. Also, free world exploration although they could do so much more with every planet/moon. 7/10 on community focus. They seem to only pay attention to more high risk changes before fixing bugs and adding more material/gear but not more storage. Also, too PvP focused. 5/10 on reward system. Terrible reward tracking. (In example: do horrible in a crucible match or just enter a fire team in a Vanguard playlist as the strike ends, exotics rain into your inventory.) All that needs to be said. 9/10 on security. There really is no hacks going on too much besides simple (yet irritating) glitches from raids. Even when something does occur, Bungie usually jumps on it. (When it comes to hacks, not glitching.) I love this game and I believe it'll become even better than what is perceived by the public as the years come about. Although, Bungie will need some major tweeks and risk taking that actually applies to community voices and not statistics drawn up from gameplay.

Because this isn't a Halo-type game. This is an MMO that constantly changes. Welcome to 2015.

9/10 It's massive, immersive, pretty and the social aspect works very well. I wouldn't put the hours in unless a game was very good

I have played destiny as much as I have played pokemon I guess so Id rate it as the same as pokemon :D 10/10

Edited by ZioDJ-: 3/24/2015 2:16:03 PM5/10 haven't played it since I realized that we will be able to buy better gear from the tower when HoW comes out. Grinding in this game is pointless. I love earning my items because I am a solid player... Then when I see some lucky a$$h()le get gear who was AFK or just sucked, it erks me. No thank you, enjoy your game that requires no skill. I choose games that require talent!!!!' Keep judging players who have lots of hours put in. You know half that game time is in orbit or the tower!
-
I'd say 7/10 My biggest beef is not enough explorable areas and maps. I would love to be able to explore more of the tower, the Last City below, another Venus map, another Earth map, and a new planet are on my wish list.

That was a year ago dude, bloodborne is 93 meta and i hate it

Imo, this game is between a high five or a high 6. Now that Borderlands is out, that actually has a good RNG system and way more value.. my time on Destiny is going to be cut to a minimum. For goodness sakes, they still haven't fixed all the bugs in the game. Explain that to me. Me and my group were doing Crota on hard. We've done it a bunch of times before. We know what needs to be done. We're able to finish the HM in like 40 minutes. Last night we had a checkpoint at crota. It took over 2 hours to beat because of the bugs! Crota jumping off the platform. Swordbearer going into Ogre room. Sword disappearing not once, not twice, not three times or even 4, but 6 TIMES! There was even a time where I picked up the sword, got to the rock, disappeared. Yes I know the sword disappears naturally but I just picked it up and it wasn't even sitting on the ground long, like 3 seconds.

6/10 to 7/10 is about right, the lack of story (appalling, if you think about it) alone knocks the rating down. The replay value is incredible though, that's why I'm leaning towards 7 to 7.5.
-
10/10 even though it's not the game we expected. I can't stop playing

It's a C+

6/10 Repetitive, with no real reward for repeating things. Once you hit 32 with raid weapons there is not much to do in the game. You can aimlessly try to get all exotics but there is no real purpose in that or effective way to do it. So, after 32 and raid weapons you are grinding shit u have already done for shit you dont need/wont use. Also, no real story. I stopped playing a couple months ago, I'm shocked so many people still play this game.

I give it 9/10. It has issues, it isn't flawless, but Bungie has already shown that they do plan to take an active role with it (even if some of the changes that they make aren't exactly fan favorites) and that they can fix the issues. The gameplay is awesome, the raids are tons of fun, it is addictive as all get out. I definitely got my money's worth. As for the Metacritic score, I don't put stock in that since anyone who's butthurt can go flood the ratings with 1/10 reviews. I looked at some of the Destiny reviews there at launch, and it was stuff like "1/10 for no offline play" or "1/10 because I dislike the voice chat." Those are valid complaints, but 1/10 for the whole game for them? No.

It's funny, going through this thread all I can see is people judging the game based on what it isn't, saying "it lacks this, it doesnt have that, it needs this" apparently this is a crazy idea but I believe games should be judged based on what IS there, I understand people were misled by advertising, hype, whatever before the game was released but you need to get over that and focus on what is there. All the people complaining that there isn't enough content just don't like the type of content this game offers, I played Diablo 3 every day for almost a year, that game had 4 acts, literally 4 levels IN THE ENTIRE GAME, but similar to Destiny the "content" you people want so badly is the replaying, the collecting gear, the hoping to get a weapon you've wanted for months, and while I think Destiny needs a lot more variety in gear to make it successful as this kind of game, I definitely think this is the direction the game wants to go. If you want an rpg game where you play through the whole story once then are done then this just isn't the kind of game you like.
