I feel that destiny would be a lot cooler if there was dual wielding in the game. of course there would have to be penalties to balance it out. here is some i thought of
- only certain types of weapons can be dual wielded. hand cannon, fusion rifle, rocket launcher
- you have to give up one weapon slot to dual wield another ie. give up secondary slot to dual wield a primary weapon
- due to a loss of a slot, an increased ammo count would be in place
- you can not ADS while dual wielding
- exotic rule applies, you can not dual wield exotics
-increased recoil when firing both at the same time
- you would most likely be dual wielding the same weapon

Dual wield should be its own weapon class that comes in 2 forms: Dual handguns (not handcannons) and Dual smgs Dual handguns do slightly more damage that scout rifles with a similar rof, and smgs do the same damage as high rof assault rifles with the same rof Handguns have 8-20 per handgun or 16-40 total (20 per gun with field scout) rounds per Mag and 30-60 per smg or 60-120 total (60 per gun with field scout Dual wield weapons can only be hipfired and have low gun kick
