Hunters long ago befriended the hive. The hive in return went and killed everyone in the hellmouth. The survivors went to Mars. On Mars, Valus was offered rockets in return for firepower to fight the hive. Then the vex came in and killed Valus. Enraged, the survivor (a warlock) came to earth to learn about flying like a butterfly. He called it "glide". He used his wizard magic to make hunters be able to jump more than once for some reason. Hunters despised warlocks for such a horrible offense. And as Steve the Striker tried to settle the argument, he accidentally killed a hunter. Thus, the warlocks paired with Titans to forever curse the "scrubs" (hunters) and Titans were given a similar jump ability, sealing the alliance.
