No micro transactions suck, even more than RNG. I would prefer a system that has quest paths to obtain exotics so you could feel a real sense of progression. They could use a mix of PVE, PVP & raid progressions to unlock specific exotics. They could still incorporate their RNG system for drops that are of legendary or lower value. This is coming from someone who has played very little PVP (enough to do a couple exotic bounties) and hasn't completed a raid yet. I wouldn't mind having a reason to get more involved, but the RNG makes any activity in Destiny just a shot in dark when it comes to loot...except for a few raid weapons & armor.
