Hello I am a 13 year old gamer and I play Destiny. When I join someone or go on raids I am Called "Squeaker".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being 2 years younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am 13 and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with 6-9 year old's if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome MMO. I love Destiny it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about 70% of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think Destiny would be more inviting and people under 14 would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?
Australia has different spelling and grammar and I am 13 get off my case.
It's not the age it's the behavior. My son is 9 and no one has issues playing with him.
-
Most sqeakers are annoying and have created a bad rep for people like you. Sorry bro
-
Edited by RiloRetro: 7/20/2015 10:18:59 PMIt's not the age that is the issue. The term "squeaker" refers to younger players who are disruptive and uncooperative teammates. They tend to shout and rage a hell of a lot. They're just toxic. Because they're younger they typically have a lighter voice, hence the term. If you're a good player that works well in a team and can take a loss with dignity, then most other players won't have a problem with you. Hang in there kid.
-
They're fine, if they aren't smartasses or jackasses. Then they're instant boot.
-
Well said and thank you for speaking up. Don't pay attention to the jerk and the haters and keep speaking up. I don't like playing with jerks any more than you and I'm a (very) grown up.
-
I guess its just how vastly different our childhoods are. Yes we were all kids at some point but my generation and ones before me didn't have smart phones and the internet easily available. So i guess in a way we grew up and matured faster while the youth today are watching pewdiepie or minecraft in the comfort of their home and take everything way to serious. Also I don't know if you have ever taken care of kids, a niece or nephew, but after a while kids get really annoying and you just want to relax. Then we hop on a game and there is a screaming kid and ruins the whole experience. Now i have no problem with kids because i take care of them alot so i have patience to deal with them, but i can see why there is a lot of hate towards them. If you just act like a normal person then there shouldn't be any problems. Adults need to learn how to deal with kids because you'll probably have some and if not still learn because they live on this planet and there are tons of em. As for kids they should just relax and have a good time, if some one is giving you a hard time on a game go outside or find some other people to play with. Im sure there are tons of cool people out there to play with.

I'm 13 and most people guess I'm 15-16 by my voice lol
-
YOUR people don't understand that more mature people don't want to listen to a bunch of prepubescent teens telling them everything like a know it all and then not take the blame for when they die and blame on a glitch that doesn't exist
-
Damn, I'm glad having a deep voice at 14 then, lmao
-
Why don't you do something for me? Look at the back of the destiny box and tell me the game age rating.. then talk to me when you're old enough to play the game. You damn kids have ruined this community.
-
I know 5 year olds that play cod lol
-
Whoa whoa whoa whoa So you were 9 when you were playing cod? Nurd wheres your childhood
-
I've only played with one "squeaker" in Destiny. I'm usually a bit weary of who I play with/talk on the mic with. Anyway, I was invited to Crota and we we're all just messing around. Not really caring about dying or anything. All of a sudden some random ass kid joins without asking. We just continue having fun. Eventually we all die. No big deal, not like we're even trying... and this kid loses his shit. He is screaming at the top of his lungs and saying we're the worst team he's ever had and how we are so bad. It was annoying, especially since he wasn't even invited. He got kicked quick. I know that not all are that way but omg... that was so annoying.
-
This is the very reason why I hate the destiny player community. Everyone's just an absolute Ass
-
Where did you get the stat that %70 of people are mean to kids?
-
Edited by bordomsdeadly: 7/20/2015 9:40:14 PM6-9 year olds shouldn't be playing a game rated T now should they?
-
Edited by o0DELTA FORCE0o: 7/20/2015 9:40:24 PMI don't mind squeakers you just need to not talk so much and not keep telling people what to do and listen to what we as a team need done. I was in a raid once and we had a guy just go off on how he hates kids ect. I don't care to each their own. We got to the end and a couple people were weak on the boss encounter and we wiped a couple time. He yelled and quit the game. I was like ironic. Hates kids yet acts like a baby. Ended up getting it done but it was pretty funny.
-
Don't care much about your voice, only the way you play. Are you a helpful teammate? All is well if the answer is yes.

What is wrong with all u squeakers sorry ass parents can't they read a video game rating?
-
well for me atleast, i see an association with the word squeker, they useally tend not to be open to advice, they think they know what they are doing and what they are doing is the only way to do it......if you dont have any of these characteristic then my friend you are not a squeker :)
-
This game is rated T for teen. I'm 14 and I see no reason why I should be treated differently. It's one thing if it is rated M, but it isn't
-
Edited by Negan Lyons: 7/20/2015 12:37:01 AMGame is rated teen. Keep kids off it. The internet is not your babysitter, and you probably have bad parents.
-
It's illegal where I live to communicate with children on the internet in any fashion. Not to mention weird. That being said you should be concerned with the adults who want to play with you , more so than the ones that don't. Kids online aren't dependable. Say we are at Gatekeeper just about to pound Atheon. Outta nowhere you hear a voice in the background.... "Timmy it's time to eat, Timmy I told you to turn that off, Timmy it's bed time." Unreliable. Just post to LFG squeaker looking for squeakers and play the vault with them. Get back to me and let me know how enjoyable the experience was.

Played trials with a kid who sound like he was about 8. Kid was a monster
