Hello I am a 13 year old gamer and I play Destiny. When I join someone or go on raids I am Called "Squeaker".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being 2 years younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am 13 and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with 6-9 year old's if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome MMO. I love Destiny it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about 70% of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think Destiny would be more inviting and people under 14 would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?
Australia has different spelling and grammar and I am 13 get off my case.
It's part of life little man you'll get through it as we all did

Edited by AyokaiW: 7/21/2015 5:45:23 AMMy problem, from my experience, with kids is that they complain way more than they should. They curse too much with squeaky voice (worst combination ever and a few times I counted 9 fùcks in a few seconds, jesus the kid only had to be 12, but I blame the parents for this one). They are always the first to say they got this when they don't. They have zero respect for fireteam members because they think they are the shit because they have one of the highest Grimoire in the team (congrats you have more free time than me, want a cookie?). They are usually the first to rage when things aren't going their way and quit. And finally: they won't admit they made the mistake and won't accept they are at fault. I can't tell you how frustrating this is as an adult. I am not here to cater to someone else's self-entitled brat and deal with some piss poor attitude. I am here to get through a raid as painlessly as possible. But, all that being said, I encountered all of the above with people in EVERY age group. Ironic huh? I don't care how old you are, just play the game and don't be a pest. But if you are a high squeaker I will have to mute you. My ears are sensitive to high pitched sounds and I get a bad ring in my ears after prolonged expose. Really nothing against you personally, and, if it helps, even as an adult I get a pitch when I'm overly excited about things, so I get muted from time to time. XD

It's rated Teen. Please respect the system, kids...

You laid this at the feet of an incredibly toxic gaming community. Despite it being well written you are going to be flamed because the vast majority of people who post here are mouth breathing neckbeards. That out of the way. I have been hesitant to join partake in activities with younger plays due to the frenetic energy that you bring to the game. I am 32 and the fast paced talking at loud levels and about non-important items leaves me with a migraine. But I am not going to bully you or give you grief, chances are I will leave the fireteam first. I hope you find people to enjoy Destiny with because it can be a blast with a good fireteam.

Did you guys get lost? Peter Pan and Wendy forgot to leave a note and pizza money by the phone? Form a Lost Boys clan for kids and filter out the big meanie head adults. You can play, just don't squeak-rage when somebody drops the ball in a raid and don't forget to eat your veggies. Tell Mum and Dad you want a voice changer for your b-day so you can sound like James Earl Jones.

This was impressive for a 13 year old. You gave good reasons. Nice job.
-
If you're on ps4 add TrikMoneySchmity I have an 11 year old son so I understand
-
Many kids are more mature and skilled than some retard adults.....
-
I'm 13, and when I join Trials, people think I'm 15 or 16 cause of my voice. Plus, it shouldn't really matter your age, as long as the skill is there.
-
I am 11 (don't judge) I don't even have a high pitched voice and sometimes when I join a raid group I'll say "hi" and then I get kicked! I don't like that an I don't think anyone else does either!
-
I love helping kids, they're always happy. I saw heard an 11 year celebrating getting patience and time just cause it's "awesome". You dont see that enthusiasm in adults
-
People are jerks online. Its disgusting. Destiny has a report button that does nothing. Grown adults use the opportunity to act like 4 letter words because there lives are sad and pathetic so online is the only outlet they have. My advise is to only play with people your own age. Most kids are more mature than the so called adults online.

I don't mind playing with a younger player as long as they still know what they are doing and are not going to bug the shit out of me in the mic. I've grouped with my share of "squeakers" some I've had to kick and some managed to act like an adult and play the game. I am not a bully by any means but if your talking trash and are screaming in my ear youre getting booted. Comes down to this... You wanna play with audlts, act like one or find some other Screamers to play with!

I'm 13 and i get called a squeaker too

I do t mind squeakers. I mind liars. The kids that join raid groups or whatever and say they are much better than they actually are or lie about their age piss me off. I'm 15 and sound like I'm 23 and it's been that way for a few years... People usually have no idea that I'm 15 and I've actually been called a pedophile before, lol.

Most younger kids I've met playing this game are selfish. They don't think about other people at all. At one point, I joined a hard mode raid filled with younger kids and I could already tell it wasnt gonna be pretty. When we dropped down the pit to start the lamp part of crota's end, I died somehow on the fall. Every other time this has happened to me or someone else the team wiped so the guy who died could get to play, but not with the younger kids. They just ran off without a care in the world. Really bothered me because I wouldve wiped if one of them died.
this isn't a generalization just my experience
-
I hate kids, they scare me.
-
For me, being a squeaker isn't annoying. But when you're a squeaker that screams and has your mic down your throat, that gets annoying. You seem like a good kid, though.
-
This post is too eloquent and well structured for a 13 year old, this is obviously a middle aged man masquerading as a 13 year old.
-
I dont mind too much (Im very patient) but others that I play with do, ergo I usually slap a 'be around 18' requirement on my LFGs. And hey, its only another couple of years until your voice breaks eh? ;D
-
I don't care what race, class, age, or gender you are just play the game right and we won't have problems
-
It depends, for example: I only find annoying those kids who always have something to say, and no matter what they'll never shut up, and also those who won't listen to you because they think they know it all.
-
To be honest I haven't had much trouble with people , however my voice is pretty deep for my age (14 turning 15 tomorrow :D ) i just join parties and hope people wont hate if i sound younger
-
Lol no
