Hello I am a 13 year old gamer and I play Destiny. When I join someone or go on raids I am Called "Squeaker".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being 2 years younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am 13 and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with 6-9 year old's if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome MMO. I love Destiny it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about 70% of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think Destiny would be more inviting and people under 14 would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?
Australia has different spelling and grammar and I am 13 get off my case.
I have several players on my friends list that are under the age of 16 that I play with sometimes. Normally, not playing with them has more to do with me than them. There are days when I don't want to filter my language or subject matter.

General tips. Don't use a mic. They will never know. If you need to use one. Speak as little as possible. If you go by this you let your skill do the talking. I come across just as many adults talking fraff constantly to be just as annoying as an overexcited kid. Only fools feel the need to step on others based on their age or some other excuse. In which case you are better off finding a solid group of people to play with rather then superficial or shallow people.

Edited by Tux: 7/21/2015 2:27:17 PMI normally just kick every squeaker that joins me without saying a word
-
I feel us man. I'm 14 but whenever I go into a Party chat I say I'm 15 because nobody wants to chat with a 14 year old for some reason. It sucks. If you ever want to play hit me up with a message. I'm on Xbox One
-
Go outside. Problem solved. It is the right of each player to choose who they do and do not play with. I do not agree with belittling people at the same time though if you where to join my group you would just get removed. I am older much older than a lot of the people playing and I am a crude person so for many reasons in don't play with kids.
-
Hey if you play on the 360 you should add me I won't be on that often until the taken king but when I am on just send me an invite:) GT:TACO SEMPAI
-
I think as long as they're not utter garbage, it's alright. If they're being annoying like yelling or something, then they're getting kicked.
-
One reason I like Destiny is because of the community. Unlike COD where the biggest dick rules all.
-
A kids voice doesn't bother me at all. Its how a person acts that matters to me. If you act like a child, rude, have anger issues, racist, even if you're an adult, I won't be playing with you for long.
-
Young person I suggest you advertise yourself in recruitment as a young person when organizing a party. That should weed out the haters. As for the bullying, it's a double edged sword. There are numerous amounts of kids who are very obnoxious and do childish things (usually repetitive) online, they ruin it for people like you. I find maturity plays a big part, boys sound like women, and most guys can handle a woman player despite the high pitch voice because of their maturity. Don't get discouraged, just be patient. And if someone makes fun of you, just act mature and ignore them

I pub played trials with a 13 year old last night. He was chill, sometimes quite excited, and very good at clutching. I deleted some friends just to friend request him. Not all squeaker are bad. Just give them at least a chance.

I hate doing raids with squeaker, half the time they have no idea wtf they need to do or they do know but can't carry it out for shit. Seriously 2 hours on atheon in easy mode? I finally stopped getting teleported in and just shot atheon, basically soloed the boss myself -_-. All I'm gonna say is thank rngesus for the gally. If your a squeaker that's fine but if your horrible as well as anyone else I find you annoying -_-
-
This makes me sad that it happens to chill, mature kids like you. It happens for a reason though. The majority are annoying and loud, which becomes abrasive. But that doesn't make it ok to treat people like that before you know if they are annoying or not. I was a calm kid, so I can see how it would be frustrating to immediately be lumped into the screaming cod squeaker stereotype right off the bat.

So long as you know you don't have to talk every second that we're playing, I don't care how old you are. Unfortunately the overwhelming majority of people I've encountered that sound like kids are obnoxious know-it-alls that seem to believe it's their purpose in life to educate me about a game I, more often than not, know more about than them to begin with.
-
My problem with squeakers is that in PvE, they talk too much. And trying to run trials with them, they normally suck, and talk too much.
-
1. Destiny is not an MMO. 2. You'll understand when you're older.
-
It's called the asshat effect, you get it around the time you grow a pair kid
-
I don't mind squeakers. It's just when they try to talk high and mighty or talk a bit too much that I will say something.
-
I find a majority of squeakers to be annoying. If they can stay quiet in chat then I'm happy to play with them.
-
I don't mind as long as they don't talk 113% of the time. Some have ADHD and ramble but most I don't mind.
-
Im 11 but mature for my age
-
Thanks for speaking up for us younger players!
I'm also 13, thanks a lot for standing up against the haters!
-
Sorry, The squeaky sound of young kids voices makes me want to shoot myself in the head. That is a good enough reason to kick them. I'm not trying to be rude, I just can't stand it.
-
It's 2015 and kids are more spoiled and entitled than ever, wouldn't put it past one to say they were sexually molested by Crota. No thanks. Kids are getting worse and the advent of new technologies is making them grow up faster but mature way too slowly.

Try playing gta with kids *hold magnum up to head*
