Think about it, most religions consider murder a sin, and most secular institutions consider it a crime (unless it's done in their name...). Therefore, a murderer is someone who gives up their place in society or heaven so that you can go there faster. Shouldn't we be thanking them?

I thought the religious view was more that murder is taking the life of somebody against their will, which is a crime. It isn't that killing is inherently good or bad, but that since murderers take life against the will of the victim, it is bad. Whether you think victims should WANT to be murdered or not is another discussion entirely.
