At least with Xur I know what I'm getting. With the cryptarch I gotta go find some engrams first and he'd probably decrypt them into some rocks or a coconut when what we need is flares and hunting gear.

Xur would probably be better because The Nine would come looking for him. Nobody would come looking for the Cryptarch.
