I think the article is great. It sums up everything I've felt for probably a solid month or more.
I think it tries to go into it but not deep enough though.
The fundamental problem with this game is that it is solely focused around gear (weapons included). It's not focused on the story, fun or raid content, it's focused on gear (the carrot).
Once you get the carrot, the experience is over. As opposed to the carrot augmenting the experience. It's probably too late to get the toothpaste back into the container, but I believe the only way to fix the overall issues with this game is to first shift the focus of the game back to where it should have been in the first place, everything but the gear. This way players will want to play for the pure enjoyment of playing. Not for the purpose of getting the carrot.

Edited by titan4life: 2/11/2015 2:20:48 AMI agree with you. Most of the people on my list have at least one 32 if not all three at 32. This week's reset has been by far the least amount of people online from my list. When I logged off today after doing nightfall and weekly, only three people were online from my list. Crazy. I guess I still enjoy this game a lot cause I don't have a 32 and don't raid hardly at all. Basically I still have a lot to look forward to if I so choose to do so whereas nearly all the people I've played with since september probably feel like they are done with the game. lol All I really want out of crots raid is the black hammer, whatever gear I get is a bonus.

Nice insight. I think that's very true, and likely one of the biggest design problems with having level attached to armor. I still...just don't understand that.
