"Railgun" as a new heavy.
Auto rifle is to machine gun as fusion rifle is to railgun.
It would charge up, and unleash a powerful laser.
Edit: apparently, it was too similar. How about you can fire it immediately, but it is extremely inaccurate if you do that, so you can charge it up to focus it.
